I’m thinking of starting my Mechanical Engineering degree in German this year. I’ll need to reach B1 level by the end of June to apply to Studienkolleg. I’m currently working on finishing A1. Can you share your thoughts on TUM and KIT?

Ich spreche Deutsch
But I. Also speak English
Just to clarify English is my native language
funny as it is i can read and pronounce german perfectly because i was surrounded by german tv a lot of time but never had time to learn it so now i wanna do it, its hardest for me to recognize the words when someone is speaking fast because my brain is programmed for the standard sentence structure and cant seem to switch when the flow is faster

How to get started with learning German language to fluency?
1. Immersion — Exposure: change phone/laptop settings, podcast, articles, etc.
2. Vocab 25% (1000 words – 80% daily used words) and Grammar 75%:
a. Use real-life phrases, and high-yield knowledge — go for the basics.
b. SVO, key verb conjugations, and tenses (avoid memorizing)
c. Get an overview, understand details, observe others (media), immersion, and tackle exercises.
d. Vocabs 20-25 minutes.
3. Pronunciation: watch movies in German
a. Find a language buddy (native speakers) — don't wait to be ready to speak
4. Consistency and volume: the more you do the better.
"There's no magical shortcut to fluency, but it is possible for anyone who put in the effort."

Even your English far outperforms many Brits I came across. 😁 I’m astonished. I’m beginning to want to work in Deutschland already, despite how intimidating Deutsche still appears to me.
du bist Sprache ist Schön
I can already speak Afrikaans which is very closely related to German and helps a lot (I am only 15 but the language is truly fascinating to me, and I would love to learn it) I enjoy listening To Rammstein so that is a big motivation
