The slime you guys washes out before the preparation is good for consumption coz it's medicinal, how can one soak out the nutrient in the fish with hot water? Just like soaking you meat(beaf) intestine in hot water coz of it's slimy nature. I simply wash mine with salty water like three times and prepare my fish.
The way we do it in my village, after pouring the hot water on the fish, we use a clean short broom to remove the slimy part of the fish. It's also a fast method.

Funny I normally take the bloody part on the in side out and then use the salt and hot water just like u did it for a while then put it in warm water again and use a knife to scrape the skin a bit and it works for me like that
