I'm seeing this regularly with black americans seemingly wanting the spoon held up to their mouths and them wanting a red carpet as a condition to go to an African country. Every black person migrates expecting and managing being 'an immigrant'; no red carpet, no special welcome, raw anti-African hostility. Why shouldn't black americans have to do basic homework to find a suitable African country and acclimatise to the culture there? They want a special AU passport, meanwhile it is more expensive for Africans on the continent to get from West Africa to East Africa than to either region from the US, then your African passport will subject you to discrimination, yet the AU need to be doing something for diasporians? No, AU need to bring together the countries in Africa, eradicate these borders for the benefit of the continent and African people, not so americans can feel like they have an all-access included Disney pass. Black american need to do the homework and graft as an exercise to demonstrate they are serious about Africa. African are grafters, no one is carrying them.
