  1. I'm Caribbean and the first person who returned home after working in the US as a preschool teacher for so many years after telling me what she endured I wanted to cry. She left because of a domestic violence situation and took her 3 children. She stayed at her sister in laws place who eventually started treating her resentfully after 2 months. Why? Because she found out she had some money saved away but she said she held onto that money for safe keeping. She was out looking for work but of course her papers weren't fixed and her children were still out of school. She told me how the same caribbean community of black people who will encourage you to come are the same people who will DELIBERATELY withhold information on the shortcuts of the system so that in many cases they can use you, enslave you and take advantage of you. Its like they like seeing you suffering beating the pavement. Tell yourself as a caribbean person once you hit NYC you may very well experience some cold nights being homeless in a car or a shelter or abandoned building because of some petty advantageous foolishness on the part of your relatives. I have relatives over there but would never stay by them. Every word of encouragement from them for me to 'visit' seems like a thinly veiled manipulation tactic to either become a free or underpaid babysitter, undocumented tenant at the mercy of their whims and fancies or even when you get residency and stay in their place they use you to get funding from the gov't to keep your there to alleviate the homeless situation. The stories I've heard of people taking crappy treatment from a Green Card spouse are just terrible for lack of a better word. When these people see you they see dollar signs.

  2. Entitled (Warish Warish) is out blaming her parents. They didn't invest in her college education .

No, many American parents does not pay tuition for their kids either. They made them take students loan on their names for many reasons- instilling responsibility in them.

Young people get serious with their academics and actually graduate, when they know the loans are on their names and they must repay them whether or not they graduated. But the situation is totally different when the loan is on their parents, they play around and eventually drop out of college.

    2) American parents don't want to be stalk paying their children's loan and not saving for their retirement knowing fully well those kids won't invest in their old age. They will conveniently & quickly throw them into the nursery homes and waiting for them to die to grab their estates.

American kids shouldn't expect much from parents they effectively abandon in their old age.
