How did i miss this one
Great podcast! I totally forgot to ask if Ebonics is an example of a creole language.
I cannot cite an example for you, but I recently read that Old Testament writings can be dated pre/post Babylonian captivity by the significant occurrence of Persian loan words after captivity owing to the influence of the Persian Cyrus who liberated them from Babylon. The Israelites evidently became serious fan boys for the Persians.
To further expand on my chat message.
Polabian was a west Slavic language with large German influences. The name means -by or beyond the Łaba or Labe, which are the Slavic names for the Elbe River.
It is poorly attested in writing and the recordings of the Our Father we have in it show that it had regional differences.
