  1. If south sudans main income is oil then the government should have set up a government owned oil and gas company and ban anyone from making oil companies

It would easily make it so that the government can control the wealth of the country and make sure there isnt huge wealth gaps

  2. Dear Africa,

You got political independence but the Semitic faith Countries are ruling you and ruining you through Christianity and Islam.

Hence kick out Christianity and Islam from the African Continent.

    Ehy

  3. @10:50 The government has the duty to provide for the general population…
To provide what:? Food? Housing? Recreation?
I think the government's duty is to make laws and then enforce those laws so that the people can provide for themselves. And by Corruption, the government of South Sudan has indeed failed.

  4. I live here in south Sudan and i feel we are being deprived of our civil rights. Im in a great country thats controlled by the corrupt and theres nothing we can do about it.

  5. Sudan as it has existed has been a colonial creation, the north and the south had nothing to do with each other before colonialism. It was Muhammed Ali Pasha's colonialism that created Sudan and joined the north and the south into one country. The north and the south have nothing in common between them, they don't share culture, religion, enthicity or antyhing at all. Forcing them together in one country was a grave mistake from the start. Separation was the best solution for both nations. It's unfortunate that it took 50+ years for this to happen, lots of lives could have been saved has this fact been realized earlier. Much of the fault lies with us in the north for not understanding this and giving the south its independence. We should have done this in 1955 after The Torit events.

  6. Sudan has been divided into two camps not as much by the people but under the foreign pressures and exploitation. The Sudanese people must reunite into one Sudan for one people. ONLY then you will have permanent peace. Treatys and pacts are bandaid solution. Both side must
Give and Take and Forgive and Forget. You are being manipulated from outside. Wake up! Sit down with your brothers and sisters with the goal to achieve permanent peace. You might end up
having less than before but you will be happier and so will be your coming generations. Start demonstrating against the war. I have heard your music. If you can make such beautiful music and songs YOU CAN ACHIEVE PEACE AS WELL…GO for it. God be with you.

  7. The SSD independence is July 9 2011 not 2007 as stated on the description of this video. Not a lot is known about SSD that why major news media/ individuals do make such mistakes. I do encourage proper research. The report so far was well aired

  8. My Uber driver from ORD moved here with his wife from South Sudan’s land prior to independence. His life experiences and road to independence involved years of sacrifice and family /community unity. This man worked hard for his family there and works just as hard for his wife and sons here – a humble man. I knew nothing of their struggles and wanted to see their history. As Americans we are ignorant of our freedoms as we live with comforts and privileges. God bless America 🇺🇸 and God help us to appreciate what is good and right. We need to be a place a natural goodness, honesty and family loyalty. Like many people I’ve met in poverty-stricken lands, humble demeanor and manners precedes your name. Sometimes, that’s all someone has.

  9. One issue I don’t think is talked about is most peace deals are targeted at the national level conflict, while local level violence is ignored. Over and over, local conflict has not stopped after a new peace deal is signed. Until the local drivers of conflict are resolved it will be very difficult to fully freeze the conflict for any substantively period of time
