How Did Tesla’s Cybertruck Become So Expensive And So Delayed? | True Cost | Insider News

The bulletproof Cybertruck is perhaps Tesla’s biggest gamble to date. At $100,000 it’s not clear if Elon Musk will be able to sell enough to break even, or even if he’ll be able to sell them at all outside the United States. Love it or hate it, the electric truck is turning heads and grabbing headlines.

  1. Ah, the Tesla truck, the pinnacle of vehicular innovation, where you pay a premium to embark on a futuristic journey akin to buying a high-end smartphone but with the features of a flip phone. It's like acquiring a deluxe, overpriced electric paperweight on wheels. You get the unique opportunity to experience all the drawbacks of electric vehicle ownership, combined with the quality you'd expect from a budget ride at best. Basic features? Oh, those are for the weak. Who needs functionality when you can bask in the glow of trendy inadequacy, right?

It's not about the love for trucks or a passion for electric vehicles; it's about being seen in what's perceived as the vehicle of the avant-garde. It's about signaling to the world that you're not just any consumer, but a trendsetting shepherd leading the flock of sheeple, regardless of practicality or functionality.

In essence, buying a Tesla truck is making a declaration. A declaration that you value the image of innovation over actual utility, that you're willing to ignore the glaring deficiencies for the sake of being part of a "movement", one that's less about automotive excellence, and more about flaunting a badge of modernity.

Ultimately, the Tesla Truck is a monument to our era's peculiar brand of consumerism, where the promise of tomorrow is sold today at the expense of common sense. It’s a badge of honor among those who measure progress not by strides in technology, but by how effectively they can be separated from their money in the pursuit of fashion. Welcome to the future, where looking part of the trend is evidently worth every inexplicably spent penny.

  2. Why should anyone buy this but to show off?
It’s to expansive and has a too short range to be a serious threat for other conventional pickups. It resists some bullets but I wouldn’t count on it. Its design is, let’s say “interesting”. Do I have to be an American to understand people buying this steel block on wheels?

  3. It's very cool, but nobody really needs one. It's too big for everyday use, impractical to park and maneuver. Sure it's electric, but it's inefficient. Sure you can take it off road but the range limitations mean you can't exactly take it too far into the Mojave, or Moab, or Mexico (despite their heavily-edited promo). So while I'd be fun to drive for a week or so, owning one comes down to trading all these practical concerns for showing off.

  4. Outperforming porsche in drag race is strached. It took slowest porsche and showed only 1/8 mile. Truck is fast but do not fall on marketing propaganda

  5. The Tesla towing a Porsche was a bit misleading. Apparently the Porsche was just a shell with no engine etc. Still cool regardless.
Also the tent in 8:26 is sadly misleading by Tesla as someone bought the official one and it is nothing like it and compared it to the awful Fallout canvas bag promise, as the tent is awful and nothing like they showed.

  6. What the fark is this bias bull$hit video? So much misinformation. I hope tesla starts taking media to court when they produce cr@p like this with so much misinformation.

  7. Becauuse its a piece of crap. A well engineered piece of crap but the initial concept and promises made have backed the design into a corner requiring major flaws and compromises to be accepted.
All that wasted engineering effort could have produced a proper competitive electric truck based on the model y platform which could have cost a third as much as the Cyber truck.

  8. Since I'm Japanese, I was a little embarrassed to see the figure with ぶっかけ written on its face. But this guys smile is great!❤

    My answer is below
    Black
    'Stupid is as stupid doe'

  9. I think this video was created by someone who wants to fight Musk because he isn't bowing down to the tyrants in the EU and North America.
I mean, they inly become aware of how bad EVs are for the environment if it's Tesla they're talming about. Any other time someone says that about EVs in general they're censored.
Also who cares about body panels not meeting the standards of people with OCD? Not me. Oh an the EU is silly with mandating not-shard edges. At least I oppose that.
Everything else negative about the Cybertruck is mutual with all other EVs, only with other EVs it's worse.
    F*** this channel.

  10. "Having to compete with Ford's F150 electric, the Rivian R1T, and the GMC Hummer," but no comment on how that competition is going. Why even include Hummer pickups? Their production and sales are pitiful. Ford has cut back on F150 Lightning production due to lack of demand and inability to turn a profit on EVs.
