Climate Change… Yeah all kinds of climate change in this Area, Like screwing up the Sonoran Desert by running an open canal from the Colorado river through hot as hell Arizona to Phoenix changing the humidity dramatically, or Las Vegas capturing all the rainy season water that used to go back into Lake mead and storing it underground (called it flood prevention), if you add up the "Flood prevention" storage for the last 20 years its strangely similar to the amount of water missing from lake mead,
and the idea that the Colorado river gets anywhere near Mexico anymore is JUST FUNNY..
and then the United States Bureau of Reclamation came up with an AWESOME idea lets fill up lake mead 30M acre feet by draining much smaller reservoir upstream.. apparently you do not need to be able to manage with basic math to manage the dam system.
Climate change? What's wrong with you? The population of Los Vegas soared in the recent past. Farms sprung up for growing corn for the leftist agenda of ethanol. which proved to be a very bad idea. Foreigners growing crops to be sent to other countries. It isn't climate change. Then, only then a normal drought occurred which would have had little impact. Add to all that the upstream lake cut off water for effect of the leftist argument. Very basic research would have prevented to foolish statement.
We debate ad nauseam about how the Egyptian pyramids were built.
But no one relates Hoover Dam's construction to a method used to build the Pyramids.

My great grandfather designed and created the thermometers that are located throughout the inside of the dam to measure the temperature of the concrete. This was instrumental in monitoring the temperature as the concrete cured. One of his thermometers is hung on the wall in the dam's museum. His name was George F. Nelson who worked at University Of California, Berkeley College Of Chemistry as the chief machinist at the Gilman Hall laboratory; which is where nuclear research was conducted. (plutonium was first discovered and created there).
Used to drive over the dam, back before 911 and the new bridge.
I think Elephant Butte Dam in New Mexico was a sort of rehearsal. Many of the same techniques were used.
