Etosha National Park is ranked as one of the top safaris in Africa as well as the #1 most visited destination in all of Namibia. After 9 days in Namibia we were so excited to visit Etosha and see all the animals. Our experience? Well, you can see for yourself…

  1. Etosha has (apart from buffaloes) all the Big5 animals. If you want to see wildlife, you need to have time and patience. Watch the YouTube 24/7 live cam at the Okaukuejo waterhole at night, to see how many animals come there including plenty of elephants, rhinos and lions. Etosha is not a zoo, the animals there roam around freely. Greetings from 🇳🇦🤣

  2. My daughter is on her way to Namibia on a school trip. She is thrilled beyond words to have the opportunity to potentially see these magnificent animals. I know her and she will be forever greatful to have the opportunity to visit Namibia. I can’t wait to hear how her trip goes.

  3. At one waterhole in Etosha we saw a lot of animals, the other day nothing. That's nature. If I want see a lion for sure, I go to the zoo. That's what they should do. We enjoyed Etosha. A real life experience.

  4. I've seen Okaukeujo waterhole so full of elephant or zebra that you can barely see the water. There were lions. There were rhino socialising at night. With all wild national parks, you never know what you're going to see and have enjoy the rhythm of the animals and the seasons. To rush in and hope to see everything in one or two days is unrealistic. Then again you might be lucky. The joy of the place is there are no guarantees and there's a more relaxed pace. I spent a month in Etosha a few years back and was grateful for every day. Some days there wasn't much, maybe some small unusual animal behaviour, but then there was the day the drought broke and flood waters rushed onto the Pan and vanished into the vastness. It's a magical place.

  5. You two are very ignorant and rude. It’s wild life not a zoo. Seeing any animal in the wild is mind blowing. Your reaction says so much about you as people and you really are the worst.

  6. Viewing wildlife takes patience whether self-driving or on the back of a game viewing vehicle. Etosha is HUGE and dry so wildlife densities are naturally lower than what you might see in the Kruger region of South Africa or the great plains of East Africa. It seems as though you did very little research on the park, didn't try hard enough and didn't have enough patience. Even with all those things, there's no guarantee that you would see anything.

Also is elephant with a 'ph' not an 'f'.

  7. Etosha and most of Namibia are desert or semi desert, so it's not a natural habitat to find a wide variety of land mammals. The animals were imported from the Common Transnational Wildlife Park shared by Botswana, Zimbabwe and the Okavango Basin. The Okavango Basin is a thick green habitat fed by the only river in the desert landscape, no naturally it attracts wild animals. The national parks in Zimbabwe and Botswana (Okavango region) have a wide variety of wild animals due to the thick greenery and Savannah landscape.

  8. Etosha National Park is absolutely wonderful. No place like it in Africa. I loved every minute there. Cheers, from Melbourne , Australia.

  9. You guys are snows and know nothing. 1stly you dont know the best spots, etosha is big and if you do a self drive, you need more time, or rather go for guided tour. 2ndly your ignorance is annoying. Tsek

  10. I understand the disappointment, but remember that's not an amusement park where you get what you pay for.
That's a natural environment and it's priced in you may not see everything. I had the same experience in Amboseli (Kenya)

  11. 6 hours visiting 4 waterholes in a national park covering some 8,598 square miles (22,269 square km), and an animal checklist before entering, spending a whopping $12.00 – and this is honest and the worst? Spend your money wisely – I recommend Disneyland; don't forget your checklist

  12. IDK what you were expecting from a self drive. Next time book an actual safari/game drive, where an expert guide will take you on the dirt tracks to the best wildlife viewing areas. Or visit a private game reserve where you're pretty much guaranteed to see wildlife.

  13. you lack patience and experience with such a strong opinion, also you didn‘t have an optimal itinerary, your review is shallow and not a reliable reference

  14. Typical PING people. They are governed by pings from microwaves to phones. Man is immature and impatient, so he waited 3s for pings that never came.

  15. Awwww Diddums, Americans once again expecting the world to cater to them. The place is fantastic, at Okau it was packed with animals. I watch the Live cam!

  16. Stay in town and go to the zoo…..honestly do you think the animals are tied to the waterholes…….vast area….animals roam…….get to know nature before you complain, think you are spoiled brats

  17. It seems like your expectations were way too high compared to the very limited time of your stop in Etosha.
I visited Etosha six times (between 2-5 days) and always had a great time…but also am still waiting for my rhino and leopard ;). Next time you need to extend your stay to increase your chances for varied animal sightings.

Don´t be in a hurry if you want to see beautiful things :).

  18. Hilarious. It was funny listening on how you think the wildlife is just going to pop up in front of you. Obviously no experience in looking for wildlife. I think both of you should go to a zoo if you want to see your animals in such limited time.

  19. FFS. The animals must have heard Ignorant Americans who demand everything immediately were in camp. They chose to abscond. If you cant spell Elephant correctly, why should they grace you with their presence.

  20. 🤔wouldn’t animals go to watering holes at dusk or after nightfall? If I were an animal other than an 🦁, I wouldn’t want to be caught dead literally chilling by the water in the very visible light of day
