Hello I'm Chrissy 🇺🇸 I'm from Baltimore Maryland I'm new to your channel I want to learn more about Sierra Leone. I know Apr. 27th 1961 the Sierra Leoneans gained Independence from 🇬🇧 so I'd to get to know people from Sierra Leone back in Spring 2017 I was out shopping with my 2 Aunts I met a family from Sierra Leone for the first. So kind so friendly way better than my so called friends

Good evening from The Bahamas.
Among the first Settlers of Sierra Leone from Nova Scotia, Canada, were Maroons from Jamaica.
After the Third Maroon War in the 1790's in the Cockpit Country, the British expatriated the Maroons, who had been captured, to Nova Scotia. Instead of perishing in the cold, many went to the new country, established by the British, on the West African Coast: Sierra Leone.

Thanks. So Educational. Love my country

Where is this place located please
I'm born in UK of Jamaican Immigrants. I recently through a DNA test found out that i'm 32% Sierra leonean & 43% Ghanaian (Which I knew form my Aunt who told me my Great Great grandmother was an Ashanti from the Gold Coast). I had no idea about Sierra Leone heritage and seeing this video has opened my eyes up to so much more about myself in that I never give up or take crap or injustice form anyone… Much like Bai Bureh who i've just learned of through this video and will be researching a whole heap more. The tree is also now on my places to visit before I leave this plain of reality and return to my ancestors… As always thank you Wode Maya the man i called "The Second Marcus Garvey" ❤️💛💚🖤
We need to check how can others give us names
Excellent job brother Maya
Are you serious somebody said they learn a lot in 10mins. Things they never new about their country it's all depends what school you went to. I went to school in 1975 at holy trinity primary and boys.i can assure you we was thought almost every topic that our great friend and country man highlighted on .it was beautiful because he woke up every sleeping cells in some of our brains I believe most people how learn about our history in schools will agree with me. Thanks to the Ghanaian presenter and our brother that still have pride about our history. One love to every salone person
I never knew West Africa had animals. I thought that was mostly East Africa.
