Is it Kato or Kanto Kintu
The fact that baganda are close to 18m people makes this video look like it was made in 1980
What is the estimated population of the Kingdom of Buganda in 2023, you say? If the population of Uganda as a whole is estimated to be between 49 to 50 million this year and the population of the Baganda is estimated to be 18 to 19 percent of the whole country, then if my primary six arithmetic serves me well, your estimate of the population of the Baganda this year is wrong. 19 divided by 100 x 50 = 9.5, which is approximately 10 million strong and twice as big as your 5 million estimate. You will not gain anything by belittling Buganda, you do so at your peril.
IMPORTANT CORRECTION. The first Kabaka of Buganda is Kabaka Kintu. The 2nd is Kabaka Chwa. The grandson of Chwa, ( son of Prince Kalemeera, who was exiled in Bunyoro Kingdom) named Kimera became the 3rd Kabaka of of Buganda. So, corect it: that Kimera was the 3rd Kabaka of Buganda. When Kabaka Chwa died, all his sons were either killed or exiled. So the interim leader, the prime minister ( Katikkiro) and a woman called Nakku, sent a group of people to look for Kalemeera to go back to Buganda to take the throne. However, Kalemeera was too weak, so he decided to give them his son, prince Kimera, to take him back to take the throne. Thats how Kimera became the 3rd Kabaka.
We need Federal system in Uganda
Thanks for Sir Andrew Cohen who largely reduced the Bagundan Kingdom to its core within Uganda as he did the Ashanti, in modern Ghana. Please stop this corrosive propaganda against incontestable facts.
