  1. I agree. That's why the goal should be to hire strong skilled POC. Unfortunately, some organizations don't understand this, so they hire POC without testing their skills because they want people to stop calling them out on their lack of diversity.

  2. You're right, it's very important to have our artists/ stylists be a POC because the "counter" isn't required to know our skin and hair. But just because they're a POC, doesn't mean they're any good…

  3. Not all people of color have the same hair type.
I am Korean and Black, so my hair is not going to be that stereotypical verison afro. ( 70's style ass whoopin afro.)
Hair is just like people, comes in all types and many shades and varieties.
But it's not going to be the Korean style either. Hell, my hair isn't even like the singer Aimerie , the lady that sings, "One Thing."

  4. Hahaha soooooooo many black people have gone to a salon or barber and left thinking WTF did i just pay for AND also so many non-POC stylists/MUA must have thought "WTF am i gonna do when their client has 'textured' hair or skin tones darker than taupe. I mean there are sooooo POC hair that do not know hot to properly style natural hair without the use of heat or chemicals or the stylists uses cosmetic products/MU brands that are not optimal for POC hoping to look their best

  5. True once in my 20s i went to an upscale salon i thought eveyone were great stylists and they paired me with a guy i just knew my hair would be fire worst stylist ever. He was awful went home did my own hair better
