  1. I strongly believe that Nigeria culture and most Nigeria men see Nigeria women as NOT human enough who are deserving of respect and human rights! The culture which is instituted by the male dominance see the woman as something made for the pleasure of the man and should therefore never raise any complaints against the man. The culture for example would rather the woman die from abuse or commit suicide in a bad marriage than leave the marriage to save her life. The judge is probably a serial rapists himself and entertaining the case would bring him under self judgment. Rape is a Norm in Nigeria. It happens on a daily basis. A man can just see a woman, offer to give her a lift and takes a detour to satisfy his sexual urges against the woman's will. Some chauvinists will say why did she enter his car, and my question will be since when is accepting someone kind offer for a lift the same thing as an invitation to be raped! I can bet that 7 out of 10 Nigeria women have been sexually assaulted. Most of the men loving the judgement are one way or the other abusers of women. It is very painful to behold a country so evil that they would rather continue the downward spiral into deep decay than face the prospect of freeing the Nigeria woman and see her as a human deserving of respect.

  2. Hello. Phrankleen.
Honestly only in a Civilised or Western World a Woman or Man can get a Sincere and Efficient Justice on matters like this.. Moreoso, In a Corrupt and Bastardised Justice Sytem apparently Prevailing in Nigeria you can forget a Fair Trial.

  3. Brother your opinion is good, I hope law enforcement agency can put this into consideration for people who are suffering same thing, my late fiance suffered same before she passed away.

  4. Putting sentiments and emotions aside, the law is the law. The notion of the judge using his or her discretion to hear the case is actually the BAD PRECEDENT. It is the duty of the legislature to ammend the required law so civil cases of this kind can be heard. As it is now the law is the law and like cases must be thrown out.

  5. Very unfortunate and sad for women in similar situation wanting to come out. There is damning legal implications in this case, witness/ness could have helped. But I thought there were many witnesses with similar stories, what happened after interviewing them?
Of course the case is bound to be sabotaged in a lawless environment where the winner takes all – money and power speaks. Rape is a daily occurrence in Nigeria even the young vulnerable from poor background and dare not speak. The judgement has been concluded, not surprising, cuz this is expected. This is now licence for pastors to do as they plz over there, however, it the case is now of innocent 😇 until proven guilty. Sooooooo sad ☹️. I feel bad for Busola cuz this is double demeaning of her person if it happened cuz I was not there. No woman will bring herself to public ridicule for something that didn’t happen but Bukola is the person dat knows the truth. That’s all I can say as an onlooker. 😭😭😭😭sad for my fellow woman 👩

  6. Rape is wrong.. But this is just classic #Metoo trend. I belive there's more to the story..
Why wait 16yrs to come out, as always everyone always quick to choose to hear one side of the story.
ALL this pastor engage in all sorts of sexual exploitation in their ministry with both Young/older women being their biggest fans..

  7. Rapists get treated badly, appear in Newspapers almost everyday in Nigeria, they get lengthy jail time etc. That only happens when there's solid evidence and the case is not stale. If care is not taken, false rape accusation is something that can be weaponized against all men including you, because men initiate sex almost all the time. That's why wisdom and balance is needed.

  8. Just shocking. I am disappointed with the outcome but not surprised. The Nigerian legal system is flawed. A lot of leaders are not real and are just in it for what they can get with no compassion or thought for their followers. When are you releasing the Spac nation video?

  9. I should add, exceptions are usually made for child victims who cannot know that they were abused. as adults are only able to bring a claim. It sounds like she brought a private claim in tort. It would be the DPP Nigerian equivalent to pursue a public interest case, it cannot be entertained by a court in a private claim, unless a class action had been brought by a group of women. That seems like it is still an option if the last victim who is willing to be a petitioner is within the limitation period, or was indeed a young child at the time 🙏🏼

  10. All I can add is in every country that applies the Uk common law and statutory laws will have cause limitations by which you must take action, especially where the accusations involve a tort and claims for damages. Rape has always been hard to prove, and as time passes evidence collected several years after the incident does lose its weight.

  11. Phrankleen you're my boy and all but I dont agree entirely. You are applying sentiments. The justice system in Nigeria is a joke, yes. But if the civil case is statute barred then how is it the defendants problem? Even developed countries have this. As a lawyer why would you want to go into a fight when there is no case legally? My emotional side wants a fair hearing but objectively you cannot ignore the laws for one case. Yes it seems some people in Nigeria are above the law but this is not the case here. Unless we just all agree once and for all that we are a lawless country and then we do as we like in court.

  12. God bless you my brother…..may God empower you with more knowledge…..not those other idiots like daddy freezer and other stupid politicians who are taken sides becos they are very ignorant..

  13. Nigeria culture is the best the so called westerners you people are coping are killing their self on daily basis as a result of what thier so called wife is doing to them few days ago my nabor in Madrid fell from 8 story building and landed with his head as a result of his wife infidelity in their own matrimonial home so when you give Africa woman such power those are the kinds of things we are gonna see on daily basis especially in Nigeria

  14. It is painful when any person is violated sexually (or any way) and when they summon up the courage to finally say what happened to them, legally, the statute of limitations has run out. Unless the law is changed, it's like that, unfortunately. Though, if there are any other victims of that person, maybe another will gain courage too before their statute of limitation ends. Then the person whose statute of limitations ran out could support the victim so both…all receive justice. Just having to get on and endure abuse causes deep trauma but those whose emotional IQ/EQ may be down in the single digits or zero will NOT be able to comprehend. May the truth be exposed in this case.

  15. I’m not shocked or surprised by the irresponsible behaviour of the judiciary in Nigeria…..victims who have no money and influence suffer and are often treated like the perpetrators of the crime, while the defendants who are often wealthy and have contacts in high places commit crimes with impunity….I hate to say this, but it has to be said, which is: “Nigeria is not a safe space for women…FACT”

  16. Thank you so much bro. I hear that some people are jubilating that he won. I hope that they google what statutes of limitations are. Ignorant Nigerians hear this ..He did not win the case , the case was not heard period. Biodun go and defend yourself in COURT

  17. Phrankleen, even though you are not an attorney, you tried. When l heard the breaking news yesterday, l was so desolate l just prayed and went to 🛌. Unless the Nigerian statute is changed, unfortunately that technicality would be raised all the time. Even here in America, they had to change the laws in each jurisdiction.after the Catholic church abuse scandals. The involved priests could not be criminally punished cos of statutes of limitation, most were disgraced and were forced to retire in disgrace. The only recourse for the victims was monetary damages for a long time. The American public demanded changes in their laws and now, you will face criminal.prosecution no.matter how long ago the sexual assault was e.g. Bill Cosby. It is not the Nigerian judge's fault, he had to follow the law. The ball is in the hands of the Nigerian public. Those of us in the diaspora have to be cautious about our comments. The laws abroad are not the same as Nigeria's archaic laws. I don't know about her civil case. I wish there was a way we could help her offset the court cost. God is the ultimate Judge #lbelievebusoladakolo.

  18. Why is it that the only Nigerians who supports the Dakolos or understands how things like this ought to be handled are the Nigerians living in the diaspora, does it mean there's an evil spirit controlling the ones in Nigeria who should be rather standing for the truth?

  19. Bill Cosby is in jail today for similar case and it wasn't a 2018/2019 allegations. It was the sins of his youthful exuberance (rape cases) that landed him in jail in his 80s. R. Kelly is another American celebrity that's chilling in jail for the same alleged crime of Mr. FATOYINBO. The Nigerian judiciary is a massive joke;period!

  20. It is a good thing that it was explored in court. The probability of winning the case against the pastor is very small. Investigating events like rape that happened years back in Nigeria would be an uphill battle. The public interest here is constrained and will unlikely be pursued in this case. The fact is that the court is obliged to throw the case out due to technicalities. This incident should never have gone to court in the first place. It is out of time. For this case to have a footing in court, there will be clear series of evidences. The public interest can be proved beyond reasonable doubt and there is interest from the Nigerian government. Being factual is the most important thing. The judge was sympathetic to say the legal fees was limited to a million. It could have been more and I agree. The case was won when she came out and told her story. The case was won when other people came out and told their stories. Let us hope there will be people within the 6 years limit that can take who rape them to courts in Nigeria.

  21. As for those who think it is Busola's fault for coming out late, they should remind themselves of how it only takes a few phone calls or a few wads of naira notes from the 'alleged offender' to get the Nigeria Police (of 20 years ago) to victimise/humiliate/torture/jail someone who is reporting a crime. That is why many crimes go unreported. We are not accustomed to reporting crimes because of the corruption our law enforcement agents; we leave it to God (leaving the offender to go on committing more of the same crimes), or cal a family meeting. This angers me especially when it is a case of sexual abuse. When you blame Busola, remember our Nigeria Police.

  22. Thank God Bukola Dakolo is still alive. A similar case involving RCCG where the lady reported the Rape and she was threatened to be killed and they sent their guards and van of Nigeria policemen to arrest, gang rape and kill her to silence and wipe out the evidence! Pastors, Politicians & Police!!!
