Those soldiers in Korea themselves were so embarrassed and confused to be called into duty against their own country. The soldiers PROTECTED the people by reacting to the citizens as passively as possible. While the uncle may as well be a master in Aikido, the collective love for the country from everyone including the citizens in uniform saved the day.
