Troy, an African American in the United States, was once a promising baseball star, but he was imprisoned because of an accidental robbery and murder. At that time, the racial segregation policy of the American Major League Baseball had not been completely abolished, and blacks had few opportunities to appear on the field. In addition, Troy was…

  1. Evil men like this still exist. If they’re not dumping loads of kids and baby mamas on the state to bring up and feed they’re jealous of their own kids. I love Denzel but I hate that character.

  2. Poppa Troy was simply
    jealous of his son, Corey.

    Either of the opportunities
    afforded to him, his natural
    abilities… or both.

    I've seen parents
    envy their children…

    including mothers who envy their
    daughters who turned out "prettier"
than the mother did and make
    low-key mean comments about it
    (and not always "low key").

    It's shameful to see parents
    mistreat their children like that.

  3. I don’t give a f*ck about nothing Denzel said in this movie. He was either drunk and ignorant or constantly meddling in the past and comparing his son and bringing him down. Denzel is a phenomenal actor. The fact that he got me feeling this way in his movie role says a lot πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚about

  4. My father was the same way. My father was the same way in some ways. He didn't know his father, he was hurt. You have to heal The Pass. He did me the same way but I don't do my daughters. That way, I don't have a son it was bad enough. You have to worry about people in the street and then your own father, trying to clown you and everything, and everybody and all my friends knew it. I felt like a celebrity. Don't get embarrassed. I know exactly how Will Smith feels. I know how puffed daddy feels.I know how all these stars feel that all your businesses is in the street when somebody say something stupid to me in front of a woman that i'm with or anything like that and try to clown me now, I don't speak to them any more then when I catch them and they catch me by myself and ask me, what's up, I tell him you don't never have to speak to me again so then when you see me with somebody you don't have to speak, because you don't know me, you're not gonna embarrass me. In front of nobody, I won't speak to you no more

  5. Denzel in this role reminds me so much of my grandfather…(minus the drinking. He was the only male role model in my life until my mid teens….That was when one of my uncles (by marriage) stepped in. He was not hateful like my grandfather, but he gave me ALL the wrong advice! Especially about relationships, lol.. By that time, I had already figured enough of it out already to know that he was giving me BS advice… I still appreciated the effort though…

  6. Yall in these comments, forgot your place, honor your father and mother, it doesn't matter what y'all think about them, you dnt like it move on but as you live in under your parents/fathers authority your subject to his direct.. aint no if and or buts about

  7. As a parent sometimes the more we push our children. Sometimes we can push. Our children to far. To the point of no return! By doing so. The only way our children are to return. Will be by God alone, Amen πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

  8. Close minded dream killer. A lot of heads of the house holds don't understand the assignment and a strike against their ego. As a dad you should want to let your son fly not styfel their achievements. Sometime parents can't let go
