  1. Rob Whittaker saying recently that he didn't strategise or prepare properly for his Du Plessis fight (which I think is fair, he didn't know what truck it was that hit him), but it's all here. That athleticism, determination and not afraid of the violence, that ruthlessness. It's bizarre how even those in the fight business get duped by the notion of "technique" and don't see the results for the lack of it. I think Dricus may have a profound effect on MMA. He trains every aspect of it, doesn't respect boxing rules for striking, but instead, I want to close that gap, I just need a wobble and it's the beginning of the end, and I'm not dancing about waiting for an opportunity. His speed with counters whilst kicking, his speed with takedowns, and it's great that he's a powerful striker who also grapples like a maniac and gets subs. He's also made just being really frigging strong glamourous again.
As a person, he's a great role model for taking this ridiculous taint away from MMA, that it's just psychos and roughnecks and it's all blood and mindless violence. No. It's a sport. And quite the sport it is. Complex, dynamic, unpredictable, entertaining.

  2. And this is why he is the real african champ the others were born in africa like dricus. But Dricus Du Plessis the fighter was MADE IN AFRICA, MOULDED BY IT.

  3. I have to say it cause I love DDP but I just don't think his drown game is gonna stand up against someone like Sean. It'll be a banger but I don't see this staying on the ground one bit

  4. As a fan He looked better in EFC imo , even tho I think he can do big things or do well in UFC timing and in prime is everything in this game with the exception of a very few
