Afrobeat forever no turning back the legends
should support the youth to push afrobeat in Ghana and global the is nothing wrong doin as wat Nigeria's are doing so far we all are African's the Nigeria's came to ghether and bring all the culture of all African's rhydims to gether as one and name it afrobeat if you can not be just joined them if not know mather how sing it will be the same as afrobeat and is the same as high life
This argument is completely baseless, music is a human attributes that originated from humans.highlife can't give birth to all music cos music is a human thing.
You go ask your people, Ghanaian way dey drag Afrobeat with Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ. Without focusing on their hip life. Omg ๐ฒ lol ๐
Hi Life is a west African music genre brought in by returning free slaves first in sierra Lone however Ghana brand is unique and different but trying to lay claim to Afro beat is a no. Nigeria musician created this genre and spent a lot of resources pushing this to gain world attention and no one is stopping you to join the train however since Ghana always want to prove their point let them put resources into this Hi Life and push to world recognition. all of this is becoming like the bible story in time of Solomon when one mother slept over n killed her child and was claiming the child of the other woman. ironically Ghana don't have a problem with Ghanaian musician singing Rap, dance hall or Reggae but will pass out hearing same people sing Nigeria Afro beat….
Nigeria never learnt from you…..
In as much as the guest have spoken so well ,
I also need to remind you all that music in general have something's in common , like the instruments used, rhyming and words
And it doesn't mean Ghanaians created music , or are the influencers of reggae music from Jamaica, or any dance music in the world,
Are you kidding me? , do you people listen to yourselves sometimes,
the placement by yourselves on that podium is what is causing this unnecessary confusion.
Music is music
But The difference are the indigenous tradional drums, dialect spoken that have made Nigerians or let's say Mexicans or Jamaicans have decided to use in their music
That have made theirs outstanding,
Notwithstanding highlife is not a Ghanaian genre ,
Because even before fela went to ghana, we had highlife music from the south east of Nigeria and other west African nations
What is the hype and madness about?
the music fela did had nothing similar with Ghanaian highlife, he created afrobeat and not even the guys from ghana who exported sounds from Africa to the UK did
The number one thing is, when you are doing music incorporate your indigenous drums and instruments, language and get a good producers , arrangers and mastering
He says he has a sequence, the Ghanaians should follow….share with those who care ….. because your entertainment is going down quickly
Most of your artists used Nigerian Pidgin words and so on which is rather embarrassing because most of Nigerian Pidgin words are a mixture of sometimes the 3 main ethnic group
Or words from either
Tomorrow you'll clam you invented wahala
Mi Shatawale from Ghana mi wa fi sing like a Jamaican. Mi Stonebwoy from Ghana mi wa fi chant dung Babylon inna Ghana like mi a Jamaican. It nuh matta dat wi nuh kno wah wi doing. Yea man, Jah Rastafarai. Booyaka! Booyaka! I am Sarkodie, I just want to wear cheap oversize t-shirts and oversize jeans and fake Michael Jordan trainers, with my cheap hat and other fake drips and cosplay like I am an American rapper even while singing in Twi, it doesn't matter that no one seems to understand what I am saying. Ghanaian 'biggest artistes' are just a bunch of reggae/dancehall/hip-hop/Afrobeat/Afrobeats buskers. Just tribute acts, wannabe bros, basically. Our directionless people in Ghana are so confused they don't even seem to know who they are anymore. The only consistent thing about them is that instinct to resort to that delusional, hilarious, and nonsensical claim that Nigerians came to learn from them.
These Ghanaians are so deluded.
Highlife
was stolen from PALM WINE MUSIC and infused with jazz, funk and calypso. None of these genre are Ghanaian but was stolen to make Highlife
Ghana's claim to Highlife music is non existent. You were never known to be pioneers of Highlife. I keep on scratching my head wondering where in the hell did this Ghanaian links to Highlife stem from ๐ค. The audacity to claim wetin no belong to this werey people is baffling. I am starting to think these Ghanaians are a delusional bunch. Never in their history as a nation state has any renowned artist sprang out of Ghana and recognize worldwide on any genre of music. Not even the so called Highlife they tryna lay claim to. These people need help. Their desperation to be in the same pedestal as 9ja is making them move and talk like eeediats.
Highlife music is what represent us as Ghanaians ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ
Reggae and Dancehall are a big part of Ghanaian music not just 'gospel' musicians
My Godfather of Ghana Music industry ๐ฅ๐ฅ
