Harvard's first Black president Claudine Gay: Who will stand up against targeted takedowns?

Harvard’s first Black president was squeezed out of power by a targeted attack on her character and qualifications. MSNBC’s Symone Sanders-Townsend poses the question: If America’s most prestigious university will cave to a bad-faith right-wing mob, is there anybody left who will stand up to one?

  1. I would like to hear what her qualifications were. As an academic she had 11 papers which is very low number for someone in her position and 5 of them had plagiarism issues. By the time you become university president at the most prestigious university you should have hundreds of papers, and books depending on your field. You want to talk targeted take downs- how about her take down of Roland Fryer? An actual black academic genius- yet after Harvard's own investigation recommended sensitivity training she tried to get his tenure stripped and fired.

  2. The question she was asked was "Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university's] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying and harassment? Yes or no?" You say she wasn’t ‘properly prepared’ to answer, somehow, and that’s the problem. This isn’t a question where the president of Harvard should need to be prepare beforehand, because the answer clearly should be “yes.” If she was asked if calling for the genocide of african Americans violated their policy I guarantee she would say yes without qualification. MSNBC, Symone, this is some highly intellectually dishonest BS and you know it.

"… just to earn HALF AS MUCH, as our white counterparts…""

Was she?? is it not a many factorial issue, the salary?? Years of work, responsibility etc , Jesus!! she was at that job for SIXXXXX months!! Are you mad??

  4. "Targeted Takedowns"…??

Jesus Christ, are you saying bc she is black?? It couldn't possibly be bc she is incompetent, couldn't answer a simple CONGRESSIONAL question about the Jews!! Same with the otehr WHITE ladies…. gone!!

    2:12
No, it is NOT like that… it can be the opposite just as easily, it can also be PRECISELY bc she is black, quotas and such prove it. I am NOT saying this is why, but to DEFINITIVELY say here that she had to be OVER qualified to be give the position is impossible to know. She WAS given the position, I imagine in such a traditional place, many did not like it, if she is super qualified as this video affirms, she should have been prepared for this and many other similar things, being the first black PERSON in that position and all that.
You cannot say she is over qualified, and then say this happened bc she's black. Idiocy!!

  5. How is wanting accountability on plagirism, allowed anti-semitism, equate to racial animus at her? Are you going to blame the victim of a drunk driver for being on the road at the same time as the drunk driver next? 🤡

  6. Please more DEI hires into the light…. They can`t stand up to it……the failures are PRICELESS…….. from Bud Light to fanni ….the dogs are barking kamila…. and mooshell has no intention on showing up…… Bahhahahaha…..!

  7. It's says a lot that the woman who plagiarized gets the support vs the authors (some black) who did the work that she stole from. How about the focus on those researchers that finally got credit due??

  8. This is such nonsense. This woman didn't have to go above and beyond, she was plainly less qualified than many other candidates. She kept her job where a white woman in the same position was fired. She also chose to resign.

  9. Her career of gross mediocrity is topped off not by “so called plagiarism” it was gross plagiarism. The hostess is not particularly intelligent so understandable she can’t understand what the term plagiarism means. Black women have had an easy ride but bad news…. Meritocracy is coming

  10. If someone cannot answer a simple yes or no question it is very shady with something to hide and being dishonest acting unprofessionally. Any answer that is not a straight yea or nay is pure evil. She is that person.

  11. Snd according to bidden, all snyone had to be in this country is black to get his favor. So yes, both dodes still meed to take slot into account. And incorect citations as well ss no cotation is plagerosm…something any student would be punished for.

  12. No. They found plagerism. And if she hadn't resigned, they would have prosecuted bc no student is sllowed plagerism. It isnt sbout her skin color. It is about a double standards and laws that were violated. As you said all those answers were awful. But to say its a basic war against black people is disgustingly false..
