Fantastic job with the history! I have a special request: When you get to 1939-1940, can you do a deep dive on the US Third Locks Project? Everyone I knew called those excavations "The French Cut". I get a lot of grief online whenever I mention that those were actually abandoned (due to WW II) US cuts. Most people do not believe that.
