My FaDa (father's dad) is an Ethiopian, adopted as a boy and brought to England in the 19 century. His names are Allen Theodore የት (Yate). When he arrived in England, the British Immigratuon added the word son to his name as Yateson. When the British Immigration officer asked him what his father's name was, my FaDa replied, "I am Yate, son."
At the age of 25 years (not old), my FaDa left Englabd and went to Barbados for better opportunities in life. He then changed his name, Yateson to Yates.

If it weren't for Emperor Menelik II, Tafari Makonnen or Lij Makonnen would not have been selected as Emperor of Ethiopia. Tafari Makonnen cousin would have been Emperor of Ethiopia 🇪🇹 had it not been for religious politics in Ethiooia in the 1930s.
When Menelik II died, his grandson, Lij Iyasu, succeeded to the throne but soon lost support because of his Muslim ties. He was deposed in 1916 by the Christian nobility, and Menelik's daughter, Zewditu, was made empress. Her cousin, Ras Tafari Makonnen, was made regent and successor to the throne.
Upon the death of Empress Zewditu in 1930, Ras Tafari Makonnen, adopting the throne name Haile Selassie, was crowned Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia.
Also, I was told that Tafari Makonnen has no written documentation that his geneology is of the Biblical King David of the tribe Judah. Had he, then he would have been practicing the Beate Israel Hebrew religion and not European Greek Orthodox Christianity.
The City of Gondar was the previous Capital City of Ethiopia before Addis Ababa. There is where most of the Hevrew Israelities calked Veate Israel resides. What did Emperor Haile Selassie did for them or did to them making living in Erhiopia very harsh and difficult.? Emperor Haile Selassie never oraticed the religion of King Solomon and Kingd David or pf the tribe of Judah according to the Kjv Bible.
Had Tafari Makonnen been practicing Judaism ✡️ of King David Dynasty. Would Ethiopians and Rastafari be way better off living ?
