Mantashe barred Eskom from importing cheap diesel and forced them to order from Petro SA (a state entity) which was too expensive. It was also bankrupt from being managed by the comrades. Mantashe then refused to hand over it's records to parliament citing its confidential information. He then barred all of Eskom efforts to cut comrade costs under Andre DeRuyter.
This guy is the epitome of corruption in the ANC.

A friend of mine from thye UK, who works in oil and gas serveying reckons the only reason we arent drilling for oil off the west coast or the transkei is because Mantashe hasnt recieved a big enough envelope under the table. Thus holding massive potential for our econmy back. He also reckons if we dont hurry up Namibia will suck up all the oil from our side of the border.
