  1. In as much as I like your analysis..I think you are baised ….In your presentation you didn't mention anything about the ZERO HOUR…you don't mention the role nkomo & zapu role in gukura Hundi

  2. When it comes to the history of Zimbabwe/Rhodesia i urge people to watch documentaries done by independent sources during the war like "Frontline Rhodesia:The Bush war" by Nickie Downie, "Rhodesia 1980 elections:How free? How fair" or read articles wrote during the time like Ian Smith meets Nkomo
Anything done in the 2000s by Zanu,Zapu,MDC or the Western media is biased

  3. The problem with this documentary is that it assumes that the problems between ZAPU and ZAPU started in 1980 which is not true. They date back to the 1960s when some high ranking members of ZAPU left the party after being suspended by Nkomo who was declared Life president of the party by James Chikerema.(Nkomo died president of Zapu.He never groomed a successor)These high ranking members had tried to get Nkomo removed as president because they felt he was not committed to an armed struggle. He was more committed to dialogue with hardcore racist Ian Smith and setting a government in exile. When Ian Smith said not in a 1000 years it was after he had held a meeting with Nkomo
When ZANU was formed in 1963 its supporters were on the receiving end of violence from the much older and powerful ZAPU.There were attempts by frontline states to reunite ZAPU but Nkomo refused to entertain them calling leaders of the newly formed ZANU,dissidents
To say ZANU used tribalism to win the 1980 elections is a blantant lie and it is also very irresponsible because ZANU's main rival in 1980 elections was Abel Muzorewa.ZAPU was unchallenged in so called Matebeleland. This was known way before the 1980 elections that ZAPU would win in Matebeleland. The party that Mugabe and his ZANU campainged against was Abel Muzorewa
Problems between victorious ZANU and ZAPU reemerged (they had always been there) after the 1980 elections when ZAPU started using dissidents to pressure ZANU to give them a fair share of the spoils despite losing the elections.Remember the 5000 ZIPRA forces at Gwai who were refusing to disarm. They wanted to keep the arms for what?ZIPRA forces shot up Mugabe's Prime Minister residence in Harare too.
You must also remember that Nkomo was the first to be offered the presidency and he declined before Canaan Banana took it up?He declined because the position was ceremonial.Nkomo wanted power.Remember this was a man who had been accused of being power hungry because he wanted to be leader of every organisation that was formed before ZAPU was formed in 1960.He was also accused of tribalism because he was putting Ndebeles in powerful positions and Shonas in token positions.Just think of ZAPU leaders and you will soon realise that the most powerful ones were all Ndebele.
ZANU won the 1980 elections 1) Zanla forces were the most active during the armed struggle (watch the documentary Rhodesian War here on Youtube
    2) ZANU had already been politicising the masses during the war
    3) of all nationalist leaders,Mugabe is the only one who never negotiated with Ian Smith. In fact Mugabe was the most feared and hated by whites
    4) Ian Smith endorsed Joshua Nkomo

Those who claim that Britain helped Mugabe to win need to google and read "Four Decades of underestimating Mugabe. How the British didnt expect Mugabe to win the 1980 elections"
Let me add that operation Gukurahundi after 1980 was not a tribal issue but a political issue between ZAPU and ZANU.A lot of Shona civillians died at the hands of most Zanla forces and Zapu forces during the war.You can search for a video titled Gukurahundi started in Mashonaland here on Youtube
When studying the history of Zimbabwe/Rhodesia please do not start from 1980.There was a time when Zanu supporters were on the receiving end of violence from ZAPU in 1960s

  4. Taffy ZAPU was never against one party state as long as Nkomo was made the leader.ZAPU wanted to fight the 1980 elections as one party (PF) with ZANU but Mugabe refused arguing that the two needed to negotiate based on election results.

  5. I wonder i mugabe went to ghana to teach , because i never hear of any person confirming him. Did he not go there to get powers from the dark side. Was not gukura just a cover for a sacrifice , what happened to his first child tjis one was a ritualist . I think he was only concerned with being a president and never cared an inch for Zimbabwe

  6. Finally, someone tells the truth. Robert Mugabe was always eager to eliminate umdala, and he had Britain on his side. He was totally unaware that he was being taken for a fool by his handlers then.

  7. The Americans did not participate in the liberation of Zimbabwe. Youre such a fucking liar. America and the west wanted to stop Africans from gaining independence. The Chinese and the Russians never offered to support the liberation struggles but it was the African leaders like Kaunda, Nyerere, Samora, Gaddafi, Nasir who helped procure arms from Russia and China and also provided training. You know very little about the war of liberation my guy. Sit down

  8. Unfortunately, people do things forgetting we go old and die leaving behind scares on our own children. You won't enjoy hupfumi when surrounded by poor people. Many enemies are created around you, and even your children won't enjoy the riches around people in poverty. Let us learn from other countries,
