I thought the title was just clickbait, but that was an excellent race. I still think the 2012 Olympic final with Rudisha leading the way is the greatest 800m, but this one is a strong contender for second!

The athletes should be wearing their national colors. That more clearly identifies them in the competition and it links them more directly and emotionally to their respective nations.

They were flying. Imagine running a 48.5 400 then having to run another 400 at 50 flat. Hoppel ran 1:42.7 at the US Olympic trials. That time would have had him about 7 meters back.

So, everyone sees the one guy grab and try to pull back the winner right at the end of the race, right? In front of the entire world he did that? And no one is going to call him out? What am I missing?
