  1. Here's my theory on this. I think not only do they want to make sure it's not hallucinating, but I wonder if there's some reason older Google Home hardware can't handle Gemini, and Google wants to get a few generations out that CAN support it before they launch. That way they can say "Google Assistant: powered by Gemini available on the previous 3 models of Nest Home today!" Or whatever.

  2. Google started off telling us all the information that's "out there". Now Google is pushing on us what they'd prefer was "out there".

Drop dead Google. You've outlived your usefulness.

  3. And I swear anytime it comes to Google they can say something in plain English and you three will still act confused It's actually pretty weird! This is the worst tech podcast!

  4. It's crazy that y'all call yourselves tech heads but y'all be confused off the simplest level one stuff Google does! First off Google Bard was an experimental… Experiment! It literally says experimental right next to the name Bard so for everybody who thinks it was going to be bard the entire time there's truly something wrong with you. Google 2020 has been working on Gemini if you're a shoe tech head you would know that. They literally showed it to us in the 2021 Google IO you know the one about how their AI is going to revolutionize Google assistant and the phone. I'm sure all of y'all literally completely didn't care about understanding that because y'all were too interested in crap GFT! Secondly, Gemini being the hot word is way better than hey Google! This is the same podcast that did an episode 4 or 5 years ago about how Google rhymes with so many words in the English language. Now y'all trying to tell me a word like Gemini that doesn't rhyme with a lot of words in the English language is worse for a hot word! This podcast is weird. I don't know why y'all like to play Kate to the Google haters in the comments cuz that's all. This is all three of you all know exactly what Google is doing right now but y'all got to play dumb. Y'all always got to comment on stuff. Google kills when Apple and Samsung has literally killed the same amount of products. You people are just haters and you're playing ignorant for views! And ironically chat GPT can change their name five different times but y'all know that without no issue. Hilarious!! Also nobody wants Google Assistant anymore Y'all literally just made videos talking about how bad Google assistant has gotten. So why in the hell would I want Gemini to be inside of Google Assistant when Gemini is already capable of being better than Google assistant? I don't know if y'all know this, but Google assistant actually has real world limitations whereas Gemini has less of those limitations. So please stop placating to the Google haters in your comments. Y'all know exactly what Google is doing right now. Y'all talk to Google. You're literally up on all the Google information and leaks stop playing like y'all have no idea what's going on. If I knew Google Gemini was going to become a thing and Google assistant was getting replaced a year and a half ago how are y'all so confused on this? Oh it's because you're doing it for views. You needed a title for a video and I guess just saying Google switches assistant to Gemini is just too simple for the algorithm or whatever y'all came up with.

  5. Gemini is astrology too – it's the sign of the twins, and mercury – god of communication. So the name makes sense in that way, but still I think the vibes off.

  6. 0:19 😂 Google is funny for that, Bard sounded fun and weird like Google, Gemini sounds fun too. I had fun using Bing AI. I can't wait for the feature where I can press the nav button and circle something to search it to come.

  7. Apple is going to mop the floor with their AI-adjacent/siri replacement/whatever it’ll be. They’re not interested in making these complex, over thoughtout, convoluted software products. They have the vision clear in their mind I imagine. How do we make AI that’s useful for the average person. One of them just mentioned how they want Gemini to do what GA does. Google won’t do that. They’ll make a separate app (which they did) and overthink the idea.

Apple will just turn Siri into an AI-adjacent software that can do everyday, mundane things. You won’t have to set a timer for your pasta to cook to aldente. You’ll just set “Hey Siri, let me know when the pasta is Aldente” and you can walk away. It’ll probably be able to order you an Uber by conversation. “Hey Siri, order me an Uber.” To which it’ll respond in probably a more natural manner than current Siri “Sure thing, going home?” And then boom, you’re done. It’ll probably be the actualization of that rabbit 1 device.

  8. This AI is crap, Google assistant works with my smart home stuff and answers questions better 90% of the time, all Gemini does is read me stuff back and tell me it can't do something I could already do.

It's only good for reading you stuff back it generates and that's it, hell it's shit at searching the net.

If I ask Gemini for an interview I know exists by a specific publisher with a specific artist it's outright says I can't find any interviews from X by Y.

Google assistant pulls up all three interviews that I knew already existed.

    Instantly uninstalled it

  9. gemini doesnt seem to do what google assistant does best. i was hoping it will be like an AI friend that i can have continued conversations with,.. but somehow that didnt work, and i ended up removing gemini, and sticking to google assistant.
