Instead of trying to beef with Kountry Wayne, Godfrey should have a slice of pie — humble pie. Will he try some or will his ego keep him on his current path producing his present results? Sadly, I think he won't eat the pie.
But, what if he did? What if he offered to pay Kountry Wayne for some career advice and was willing to do as advised? KW should charge him a high enough price that he'd follow instructions because the cost was too high not do do so.
KW is showing and proving he knows what he's doing. He just might be able to size up Godfrey and point out to him a lane that fits him and that will boost his profitability, etc. Can Godfrey get past his ego? Is he willing to learn from someone who's younger, more successful, and more in tuned with today's possibilities and audience sensibilities?
Godfrey can continue to do what he's been doing, continue to pushback on KW and others that he disagrees with, and continue to receive the same results. Why not try something else, something better, etc? Offer to pay KW for his time and expertise, give it a solid try, and no one would be the wiser. If it works, he's stepped his game up. If it fails, he can go back to his old standby but at least he would have tried to improve.
Some old dogs refuse to learn new tricks. Is Godfrey one of them? We'll see.

Godfrey needs to realize that these kids nowadays have social media and can jump the tracks and become famous or successful etc. Back in his days, you had to pound the pavement and travel and actually put in the work. Which actually made them better comedians imo,but they can still start out independently and reach the world from their living room. It's similar to the music business now. Kids are literally recording albums from their iphone along with music videos, alloff the phone.
