That's why they stupidly sign minerals contracts. They do it just to be polite and they turn around and complain about galamsey. Australia mining companies are doing the SAME damage to the land. But, as you know, it's Africa. they would rather attack their own villagers who are mining to survive.
And who told you Ghana is the least corrupt???? Here is en example of corruption in parliament:
Sam George (memmer of parliament) wrote a bill to change the 1960 British anti lgbt law in order to nclude "forced therapy". British were the ones who created tha anti homosexuality law before independence because homosexuality was part of Nzema and Ga culture and the British did not like it at that time. After independence, Ghana reused that law in 1960 as instructed by the British! Sam George planned to become a millionaire from his so-called anti lgbt therapy. He traveled around the country, bribing and influencing all chiefs to support him and they, in turn, encourage all their villagers to support his new bill. Nana Akuffo Addo and all the highly educated people in the country and well educated Ghanaians abroad knew what Sam George was trying to do! The bill was sent back to parliament for corrections to delete the "therapy" aspect. The corrections were made. Now the bill is the same as the original 1960 anti lgbt law. Sam has always fooled the uneducated population and filled them with anger to get their support.Now uneducated Ghanaians are demanding that the president sign the bill. But it's now useless because the bill is now the same as the original 1960 law. But the uneducated people are still foolishly demanding that the president sign it. And they can have a violent protest if they choose to- for a bill that is now useless. The laws were already made in 1960!
