Ghana and Nigeria will compete in a winner-takes-all clash on Tuesday after a goalless stalemate in their Round Three African Qualifiers first-leg tie.
The winners of March’s five ties in Africa will book their place at Qatar 2022:

Nigeria v Ghana

Mali v Tunisia

I keep asking myself, why do Ghana always beat Nigeria in crucial deciders? I happened to be in Senegal 1992. That was an afcon semi final match between Ghana and Nigeria. Ghana won the match 2-1. Scorers were matiu adepoju for Nigeria, prince Polley and Abedi pele for Ghana. Then 2008 afcon, in Ghana. They again met at the quarter finals. Ghana defeated Nigeria 2-1. Nigeria again scored first through Yacubu Ayigbeni. Micheal essien and Agogo scored for Ghana. I happened to be in Angola 2010 afcon. Again Ghana met Nigeria at the semi finals. Ghana defeated Nigeria 1-0 courtesy asamoah gyan. The biggest one was the world cup qualifier for Qatar 2022. Ghana again eliminated Nigeria via the away goal rule. The game ended 1-1 with goals from Ekon for Nigeria and partey for Ghana. Then came CHAN 2023 in Algeria. Again Ghana eliminated Nigeria 5-4 via penalty shoot out.
The question is: when can Nigeria ever beat Ghana. The last time was 2006 in Egypt. Too bad.

I think this match was well played by both Ghana and Nigeria. Whenever the two meet, it's always unpredictable because both are African soccer powerhouses. As for the Baba Yara Stadium, it is one of my all time favorite stadiums in the world. It has a unique Ghanaian atmosphere that I cannot explain 😀🇬🇭
