27000 Ghaneans leave the country annually to seek a better life in OECD countries (UK, US, Europe), many risking their life, and with borrowed money. If you are inclined to go live in Ghana, there is room enough !

In 1974, Don King, the legendary boxing promoter, had a groundbreaking idea: he wanted to organize a world heavyweight boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. However, he faced one significant challenge—he had no experience at this level and no money. Through his connections in the pan-Africanism movement of that era, he reached out to the government of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) for assistance. The Zairean government first advised Don King to secure binding agreements for the fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. The rest, as they say, is history. Don King successfully obtained commitments from both fighters and financial support from the Zairean government. This pivotal moment launched his career as a top boxing promoter. A plan is proposed to transform a section of the arena where Ali and Foreman fought into a museum, commemorating this historic event. This case is just one example of collaboration between people of African descent in the United States and those on the African continent aimed at fostering development and prosperity.

In 1960, the United States government sent Louis Armstrong to tour African countries to strengthen relationships between Africa and the United States during the Cold War against the Soviet Union. Activists George Washington Williams (1849-1891) and William Henry Sheppard (1865-1927) played pivotal roles in fighting against imperialism in the Belgian Congo, leading to the abolition of slave labor and other injustices in the region in 1890. Their efforts compelled the King of Belgium to relinquish control over the Congo.

Figures such as Harry Belafonte, Jesse Jackson, and many others, and the work of organizations like Trans-Africa and the Congressional Black Caucus contributed significantly to the fight against apartheid in South Africa and the overthrow of dictators in Africa during the late 1980s and 1990s. We take pride in being Americans and honoring our African roots, just like Don King, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, George Washington Williams, William Henry Sheppard, W.E.B. Du Bois, Marcus Garvey, Jesse Jackson, and… even Elon Musk, who is a prominent billionaire and political figure in today’s America. Acknowledging these connections is not a form of anti-Americanism; it is a statement of fact.

The American government maintains a presence in Africa through military bases, the use of the U.S. dollar, and American businesses and financial institutions. So, why not we the people? Why not utilize partnerships? Why should this become subject to controversy from some individuals in Black America, hindered by the demons of bigotry, anger, prejudice, and resentment that lead many to behave in ways that are not conducive to unity or progress?

On December 23, 2013, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2015-2024, the international decade for People of African descent, adopted under UN resolution 68/237. It is a decade of recognition, justice, and development.

We salute governments in Africa, Latin America, Central America, and North America, in particular, for their activism in this matter, which is for humanity and global peace.

The African continent is open to welcoming individuals from all nations, including African Americans. We are entering a new era of U.S.-Africa relations focused on development, economic growth, and prosperity.

What a deception and smoke grenade!
While getting cheap political points, this "Africans loving" president didn't bother to warn those coming that they are about to enter a country of lawlessness, ruthlessly greedy authorities and unspeakable corruption at all levels – starting from himself and his own family…
    Shame!
