Every tragedy is a learning curve for everyone involved. There more we as people put profit at the forefront, we will continue to suffer.
Praying for the people of George🙏
The Construction Association and the department of Labour Are complete Idoits with Regards to this.
Condolences to all if there been injuries
It happend on the DA watch
Nothing amazing about a disaster it should not have happened…. Who is the main culprits…
What were thy building
Most say giving foreigners work as cheap labour but these people came to the country they need to work they need to live how do we just shut them out we talking about humans so sad 😮😮😮
The investigation into this matter should not take years to complete or start a commission to investigate , they must just investigate swiftly and charge who ever took short cuts every checks and balances needs to be checked
The best that I can do and other followers is pray for God's rescue and assistance to the people searching🙏👐
😢😢
Agree 100% – the education system has failed the construction industry, prior 1994 you needed a Bsc Eng degree that took 4 – 5 years of university and a >80% pass to be considered a structural / civil/ mechanical engineer – Now a days a bricklayer is considered an engineer.
AND DONT FORGET THE CONSTRUCTION MAFIA
This is an industry that is high risk wrt human beings. Yet, when one looks at small or big construction sites all over, you see workers that are typically treated like slaves…no safety and health considerations. I wonder if organisations like MBSA/NHBRC actually walk the big talk. This building collapse happened during construction and sad to losepeople this way..but just imagine what would have happened if there was eventually people living in this death trap…Prayers and comfort for the families in this tradegy.
Apoarantly the plans were changed at a late stage to add another floor we all have our oppinions as to what might of caused this tragedy but this is speculation we have to wait for the full investigation then we will know thanks to the Premier who had been on site many times to check on the progress being made our prayers go out to the families involved
I would rather employ foreigners than local labour. They are skilled and do the work properly. I blame the SA government for not allowing these foreigners to bring their papers (skilled qualifications)into the country…. lets stop moaning and just pray. Unfortunately this is their journey (the victims) and HIS will has been done. My heart and prayers goes out to the victims as well as their families 💔🙏
The municipal building department passed the plans. How accountable are they? Every aspect has to be publically looked into. Also where were the supplys to build bought from?
Families have been asking for any updates saying that no one from the local government or professionals is talking to them but the Premier comes on the same news platform and mentions the opposite. Who is lying? I don't think the Premier is talking the truth. This whole operation is a circus. Why are they only bringing heavy machinery (excavators, drilling machines and additional dump trucks) on day 5? They should have brought these equipment by latest on day 2 or 3. They should have ripped open atleat one side of the building to gain access to the entire section of the collapsed rubble. Someone is covering up the real truth here. If this had happened in an ANC held province and the Contractor was black like me, all dark secrets would have been all over the media…
Where are the owners???? They are probably hiding in the UK or Australia by now. We don't even hear anything about their name or their whereabout😢😢😢
Why dont they have 2 groups of people working one day shift and one night shift Where is the guy that is in charge of this buildering they say it a crime scene.
Da and eff is killing people because of love of money cheap labour
Sadly it's no longer rescue, it's retrieval😢😢😢
Maybe it's time that ANC led Government must force the Western Cape Government to be be put under administration.Too many bad things gowing down there with no accountability whatsoever whenever the popo hits the fan.
Why is the news media till now haven’t revealed or covered who the owners are and builders are . Thats the first thing which the public have the right to know .
What cement was used 😢
R.I.P beloved 😔💔 Keeping all in my heart and prayers. All my love in Christ to all!
This is just a beginning of multiple incidents to come due to lack of skills in our youth cz lately these train centers and sponsors all they care about is money and im speaking as one of the youth who are in process of training,we are simply learning nothing after that we will all be qualified for something we know very little about, thats just the sad reality of this country🚮
This tragedy must be investigate by independent law
Alan Winde is an amazing man. He remains there permanently, no sleep, supporting these incredible professionals and volunteers, not giving up in the hope to find more survivors. Makes my proud to be South African
Should investigate building collapse that it was not sabotage, because of so many foreign workers on site, that locals jealousy for taking their "work".
The government and private companies are failing South African Citizens by employing foreign nationals 😢whereas our people are unemployed.
If anybody knows where they are, they would NOT BE MISSING. It's NOT easy! PRAY instead of moaning
❤
Crazy that it's taken so long to clear the rubble. Day 5 and they still don't have all the equipment on site.
But the construction workers are the ones responsible for their own safety moes
May the Lord guide you all in your efforts…
we need to change the rules of labor workers in SA, everything will come bac to our faces '
condolences to all the families
Japan; Erects a mall within 3 weeks.
SA; day 5 of ruble removal – we doing our best, but for now we waiting for more machinery, more interviews, and tea.
Is it sabc or YT deleting comments? I've had 3 deleted.
What input from the engineers and project managers.. Who is going to be held accountable…?
So many construction sites in SA run by under qualified people. I've seen it over and over.
That's the problem with most building constructors, using cheap labor from foreigners to keep building costs as low as possible so that their profits are more.
Tragedy at its worst. A real catastrophe. A wonderful teamspirit exists among the people.
