Jehova please be with all the families and friends that are going through this difficult time and please be with all the rescue workers and all first responders who are at the ❤ of this extremely difficult work ahead. My ❤ and prayers to all affected.
Do the journalists actually care?
Which municipality is George under? Which political party runs this municipality?, who recieved a tender for this project?
Did they hire engineers to inspect the site first?
A corrupt government always risk people's lives.
Let us vote wisely on these coming elections please
So many building-savvy people in the comments. Lets be quiet and pray for the affected families. Worry about the blame afterwards
Real poor show, condolences to all who lost thier lives.one crane in 3 days.recovery units.far to slow.what happens if S.A.has a major disaster. You on your own jack.
Ian a builder myself ,developed a lot of projects, well now we want to put the blame on the prson who approved the plan but are we also going to look at nhbrc site inspections, how did they allow the first floor to continue being build with a suspicious basement 😢
Tragic
Where are the accountability of George decision makers at Public works level and George municipality. A newly constructed building collapse upon closer investigation!! Which family members and or friends benefitted from this Tender..???
Was there a compliant Quantity Surveyor ???? Really these deaths are such atrocity and because of corruption…Hello. we are not fools!!!!..when you deviate on cement and reinforcement norms and standards then THIS tragedy occur….
SA is a disaster without this disaster!!!. Try waiting for a toxicology report for your child who died 8 years ago and you will find out that it takes 12 years!!!! I am taking about my own son, who was a taxpaying citizen born here. Surely this is also a disgrace!!!!!

Families wanting to go on site? They need to think realistically. What if they get hurt, would they be able to comprehend what they would see when more bodies are found… they are not qualified. Hard as it may be, let the professionals work in peace
Where is NHBRC in the whole scenario?
is it just me or does it seem majority of injured is foreign nationals 🤔
How can you conduct a fingerprint identification if some of the fingerprints are not on South African systems. That is the challenge with allowing illegal foreigners in our country. This is causing massive issues and Gayton raised valid points that must be addressed by government.
Please STOP the blame game! Honesty will prevail. Lets remember the families of the deceased and not make this a sensational issue.
The stinking rich building developers who sit on their behinds and watch the work done need to be held accountable. The municipality needs to stop giving permits out for these ridiculously expensive homes that the locals can’t afford
Let's hope they can test the basement and first floor parking's concrete pillars, was the concrete poured by concrete company mixed at their factory to required strength as per the engineer and not mixed by the cleaning labourers. No way it will be a consistent strength!. What type of cement was used? It's clear the Concrete pillars collapse and the the the building comes down in 2 seconds, like your legs (pillars) getting kicked out from under you.
As SA we not ready fr unity if was other countries people shld h e United in assisting professionals
So sad
🙏🏿
I see how the media painting this as horrific accident instead of negligence 👎🏿💯
The person (municipality worker)who approved that building plan must be brought to justice
