I visited OUagadougou in 1987. I met a 16 year old schoolboy who had won a competition to change places with President Thomas Sankara for a day. I was there to test wood burning stoves. European aid workers had invented 20 stoves, only one of which was more efficient than a 3 stone fire managed by an African woman. By the way, this is now out of date, not "Geography Now".
