  1. It behoves us to wake up to the fact that, of the monies extorted from us as taxes, 80% is siphoned off thru' unlawful bonds and mischievously manipulated dollar and other hard currency exchange rates, with half of what remains going to line political pockets to keep them quiet, docile and loyal to the scheme to fleece us. It's with this remaining paltry 10%, that we must juggle thru' rain drops, to make ends meet for the 50 or so odd millions of us.

  2. Food should be considered an essential untaxable product not to be taxed because we all need to eat to live and without farmers we either dye or import food making it more expensive and out of the reach of many creating desperation in the populace. Want to see a revolution, just make food expensive where people can not afford it like it happened in India where the govt was almost overthrown.

Crimes go up because people will do anything to feed themselves and their families. Imagine a single mother with kids who can not afford to feed her kids? The problem with KRA they do not think of the social impacts of their taxes. It's like we need to tax everything come what may but there are also consequences.

If you want to ensure food security and encourage farmers to grow more let them keep their money and not tax them, If they keep more of their money they will reinvest, grow more food, and grow bigger meaning they will hire more workers, buy machinery to improve on production and with more money in their pockets they will spend stimulating the economy. Farming is the biggest employer in Kenya so imagine the ripple effect it will have on the economy with more money in people's pockets. We should stop taxing farmers. The gains are bigger than taxing them. In fact, they should be subsidized like other countries do. farmers are treated as sacred.

In fact, we should have a law not to tax food from production to supermarkets. We need to incentivize farmers to grow more food and not less by making farming profitable. KRA needs to chill. Not every tax is a good tax.

  5. SELECTIVE TAXATION, WHAT ABOUT OTHERS ,IF THEY REFUSE AND GO TO COURT ,THEY ARE DERAILING THE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS
SASA MNATAKA KUKETI JUU YA ,Y OUTSIDE THE LAW, THAT IS WAT WE CALL SELECTIVE AMNESIA

  6. Wamuchomba is the only true leader among Mt Kenya MPs. She actually read the bill and knew how it was going to hurt her constituents. The bill in itself had good things and majority of hurtful clauses. At that time no one supported her from the region and now it has come to pass. There will be no amendment as we are being lied to by Riggy g

  7. Eish, it looks very bad for kenyans. It is now taking a tribal angle when you hear Fish, tea and sugarcane being brought to the fore. That MP has forgotten its actually majority of his cousins producing tea and also owning the majority of tea marketing firm and brokerage.
