  1. Love thor, i was brought the channel after watching the doctor mike interview. I do love that he basically brought up the ship of theseus thought experiment but star trek.

  2. I absolutely love this. The two content creators that have helped drastically improve my life, together, talking about things that matter to me. Thor has helped me regain my motivation and focus to achieve what I want to achieve in life, even though thats not gaming and programming, its still relateable. Dr K. has helped me on the emotional and mental health side of things and to understand myself and my feelings and why they are the way they are, and how I can channel and direct those feelings to serve myself, good or bad.

Thank you for this, both of you are an insiration for me.

  3. 🙁 I'm just stuck with a video about "Rehab to Recovery Ranch – Andrew Maloof" with a yellow tracking bar like an ad, but with no option to skip or otherwise end the ad. It has 55 minutes remaining. I just want to watch Dr. K. What is going on, Youtube?

  4. When thinking about the whole demoralized when the first game or games fail, it made me think of learning piano and the levels are from Gr 1 -10 and then Advanced. If its your first game, you just learned how to play Mary had a Little lamb really well and wonder why no one is hiring you to play piano at a birthday party. Bro, all you know is a song using 5 notes.

Even in RPG Maker… I'm not spending hundreds of hours making sprites and graphics that don't help the game when it's going to be bad anyway. Its actually a fun challenge to try and make a game using the stock sprites and effects with minimal added on top. Its gonna be bad so don't put in the effort you don't need to when it will be bad with your stuff or the stock stuff just the same. Just spend time making the game.

  5. 1:59:11 I'm surprised to hear HealthyGamerGG repeat a popular neurological myth about right vs left brain functions. A simple google shows reputable sources how it's false, and hasn't been a belief of neuroscience for a long time. Such a basic mistake in their field of claimed expertise really makes me cast huge doubt on everything they say.

  6. That first hour as Thor was describing is experiences, his mental, how he's seeing eveything above rock-bottom survival as just hanging around doing stuff, I was right there with Dr. K, getting more and more excited at seeing someone who had amazing "stats" for yoga.
And I saw how Dr. K kind of regretted giving him the old "so on what path do you want to continue this talk" and Thor picked the "mental health in game dev" and the Doctor basically railroaded him right back into spirituality.
It's been so long since I last watched an HG interview, I'm really happy to have caught this in my feed

  7. Two of my favourite channels, together! Thanks for making this possible. I feel this was a very rewarding and insightful conversation for everyone who is fortunate enough to watch it.
Also, especially from the philosophy Thor reveals in this interview, I realize more and more that Thor is a man of wisdom. So objective and insightful in everything.
Thanks for both of you for making this amazing piece of content, and I eagerly look forward to more!

  8. I listen to this as I slept last night. Thor. Top tier human. This other dude. Kinda a know it all ass. Thor explaining something and mr 711 says “Thor I’m thinking” to shut him up. Nah. Habibi needs to learn manners

  9. also secondlife. thor we more then likely crossed paths thern. in the early years i was a maker of avatars mostly furry but ya. i think we have talkled before via second life. i was the modeler friends was the scripter.. i think the store was DSD or dark spot designs. ill make you feel old. mesh and animesh are the go to on SL these days. prim is barely if at all used the last 7 years XD

  10. i watch this guys videos but either im just so shut in i see it wrong or it feels like im watching a andrew tate video but without the alpha bullshit. there still bullshit here but it feels offf.

  11. This video helped me finally grasp my emotions and gave me confidence to pursue my goals. Explaining how the brain works helped me understand myself and what you do is amazing! I've watched so many of your interviews and I find myself lucky to have found this content 🙂

  12. emotional processing: recalling the memory, reliving the emotion, reframing it, and then filing it away again using a more analytical approach, instead of having it in the forefront of the mind all the time. You can't do this for someone else; you have to activate your own emotional circuitry to process your own emotions. Thanks for this definition.

  13. IMO the “demoralization” that Thor is talking about can be solved relatively easy and isn’t worth much discussion. If making games is something you want to do, do it. And if your games aren’t taking off, and you are willing to keep putting in the effort to make more games and perfecting your craft things MAY work out. Let’s face it not everyone will become successful developers (you define what success means for you) and that’s fine. The reality is not everyone will be doing what they want in life, the pursuit is the purpose.

  14. Example for memory altering sensory Input: Misshearing lyrics the first time and then misshearing it always the same way, untill someone tells you the right lyrics. And then you might be able to switch your heared lyrics at will.

  15. I was (and still am I guess) one of the people that heard Thor's advice originally, but couldn't quite put it into effect. I feel like this added dimension is what I needed to understand to start working towards actually enacting it.

  16. I think Thor's best quality is his openness and natural curiosity. He doesn't live in a world of assumptions, he doesn't rush to judgement or make bad interpretations; everything and everyone deserves to be given a chance to be understood, and he not only takes the time to understand, but he learns infinitely more (which satisfies his curiosity) by being open to a similar experience being new or different in some way that he would have never expected. He really approaches every day as if it brings him something fresh to think about, and that's one of the strongest mindsets to go through life with, because not only are you constantly finding something new each day, but you can receive the events of your life better by being open to the experience. He just has one of the most powerfully curious minds I've seen, and his interest in puzzles and problem solving are excellent assets that he's cultivated which have partly shaped the kind of person he is and how he responds to things.

  17. I love that you can tell Dr.K is passonate about this stuff, the tone in his voice and the amount of depth he explains things in is something you can only do when you truly love what you do. so refreshing to see someone this openly passionate about their profession
