  1. A caustic question: why is the shadow depicted as a cone? After all, the sun is far enough away for its rays to be parallel. Okay, so be it. But why do the satellites of Jupiter cast a shadow on the surface of Jupiter in accordance with the size of their diameters, and the shadow from the Moon on the Earth is noticeably smaller than the diameter of the Moon ? 2:17

  2. I believe this is the one I've been thinking about since the recent one we just had. I was 8 a few months shy of 9 in 1970, I was born in 1961. I was here in Florida and remember my foster mother pointing to the window and telling to watch the day become night. I, being a kid, wanted to go outside to look but naturally was not allowed. I remember everything turning deep red like if it was sundown and I even looked at some chickens in the backyard that I had as pet. I really don't remember if they went to sleep like my foster mother was tell me they would. Wow, what memories, I was in awesome of the magical moment.

  3. WOW April 2024, CBS /NASA PREDICTED IT BACK IN 1970😮😮! 8 th/2024 I saw 98% of the solar eclipse from my balcony on the 4th floor of my apartment in Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦! I missed it but watched it on TV in 2017! ❤

  4. I was born Oct 1970 and just started thinking after 1970 eclipse in one month Apollo 13 events would take place. And now 54 years later Apr 8 2024 eclipse, so much has happened since 1970 eclipse and I'm hopeful that in an event like this we are very fragile on our mother earth and we the human race is capable living on this beautiful home we call earth🙏💕

  5. Woww!!! even Charles Kuralt mentioned the Boston View of the eclipse came from the roof of the Old Boston Garden!!!! 2 months and 3 days later on May 10, 1970 @ the Old Garden & CBS TV was there to cover Game 4 of the 1970 NHL Stanley Cup!!! When, Bobby Orr score THE GOAL @ 40 seconds of OVERTIME and made HOCKEY HISTORY!!!!! THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

  6. They say when u experience a solar eclipse it can be pretty scary. I’m scared and very excited. scared bc tbh spacial phenomenon like this puts into consideration so many questions about space and our itty bitty place in the VAST universe.

  7. I was 9. We watched it on TV in Minnesota. lol! They say in this broadcast, that there will be a another very good solar eclipse in "2024". Boy, if Walter Cronkite could have only known what the "21st Century" was really going to be like…

  8. My father was in the direct path of the 1979 eclipse and tomorrow I will drive about 10 hours E-SE to Dallas to be in this year’s path. I was able to see the ring of fire effect in my ABQ backyard last October.

  9. I love that Charles Kuralt and his guest mentioned that the next best time to view a total solar eclipse in the USA would be in 2017 and 2024. Kuralt passed away in 1997.

  10. My husband and I were lucky enough to have been in the direct path of a total solar eclipse on March 7, 1970, while living in Fayetteville, NC. The weather was perfect. The experience was phenomenal. The main moments lasted only around 30-seconds. The air got considerably cooler. Birds ceased their tweeting. Mind-bending.

  11. Our earth is a flat plane. We are covered by a firmament which protects us from the waters above. We are contained within a terrarium of sorts. Extra Terrestrial means lands outside our own lands which are encircled by a great ice wall. This is why nobody is permitted to explore Antarctica, which is the border that completely surrounds our lands and oceans. The sun & moon are local; not 93 million miles away, not 250,000 miles away. Nobody ever went to the moon. There's no such thing as "outer space" the way we've been indoctrinated to believe. Nobody can prove we live on a globe. Nobody can prove we live on a flat plane. Throughout modern history, those who have actually had proof of where we live have all "disappeared."
