  1. This was very interesting, I thoroughly enjoyed it for the history of something I knew nothing about, and specific 90's nostalgia.

I heard about this on CNN, where Jermaine Dupri was being interviewed by Victor Blackwell.

I agree, it got too big and wasn't properly controlled, it should've been more confined and restricted to college students and the students attending should've had more respect for themselves and each other (when you act a certain way, there are concequences, that goes for some people there promoting/condoning certain behaviour) Hopefully it'll go back to it's roots.

It was cool hearing Lil Jon's voice and seeing him without all the outlandish jewelry.

Regarding the Olympics, what Freaknik turned into didn't show Atlanta in the best light and I say that about Daytona beach and Miami, stop acting crazy, destroying things, and being disrespectful.

  2. I was in HS. Remember taking my dad’s gf’s car and driving it up and down Peachtree. I didn’t even have a license and was blastin’ Biggie on the radio. Good times!

  3. I attended freaknik for five years consecutively in the era of natural booties and natural black beauties we didn't have any drama back then just fun and good times.

  4. The best part of this documentary is that the rise of stds, the promotion of promiscuous among black culture is not a government conspiracy. They literally created an event to spread disease.

  5. I enjoyed the documentary. I got emotional watching its beginnings. I wasn't a fan of how some interpreted what freaknik was supposed to be. I was a super fan of what the essence of Freaknik was: which was a celebration of Black Love, Black Culture, Black Excellence, Black Socialization, and Black folks having fun!!!!

  6. That’s why docs are so important.. I mean they don’t tell the WHOLE story but I definitely thought Uncle Luke started Freaknik.. I was born in ‘93 so growing up I would hear how people talked about how freaky Unk was in his songs and then I heard about freaknik and how he brought the “freak” to it.. So in my mind he started the whole thing just not the ending..
