It’s the prison guards fault for not have the proper equipment, planning and contingencies. They were literally sitting ducks… a proper police escort would have had the principal in a armored vehicle with a lead police car in the front and another police car to tail from behind. Depending on the threat level, they might even have more police cars in the front to literally protect the principals car, and be able to have another vehicle that was not affected by the crash so they can take out the attackers
