  1. He's not Kenyan, he's a comedian living in the UK and originally from malawi. I have relatives in these international schools and they stufy Swahili as a subject that is being examined. My f*cking ex is Italian but she speaks fluent Swahili because she learnt Swahili in a school offering British curriculum. Daliso was in Kenya in 80s. That is not the current situation in Kenya. The journalist and this channel should get their facts right and do some research on the topic before yapping. 🚮

  2. Now is Gen-Z in control get rid off all you despise. Ruto is a mess especially when he rolled out a red carpet for a monarchy known for killing and looting. The earlier he’s thrown out the window the better.

  3. The problem with this guy and his channel is that he always looks at rich Kenyans and he assumes that the whole country is like that. Go to the countryside, slums and to eastlands where the real kenyans live. Rich Kenyans don't even consider themselves as kenyans… Wacha ujinga bro leta unono yako pahali wakenya wako

  4. not only schools but also parents contribute highly to this
I know of a parent who says that she will only take her children to schools where students speak English and not Swahili

  5. Nah , you can't force schools to teach certain subjects . That's mental , stop being emotional . Then why are u talking in English right now if "we should have a language we all communicate in " . It's called a free market . If a school woke up today and said they won't teach algebra it's up to them as long as they produce students that pass major exams

  6. Because Kenya they are not proud of their own especially when it’s come to Swahili, they been bullying others in EA for not speaking good English. They see themselves British and that their own country proudly problem. 😅😅 we keep our Swahili with those who love to use it or learn it or teach their people. ❤✌🏽

  7. No wonder when I watch any kind of Kenyan interview no once I ever come across anyone speaking in a full swahili without mixing with English. I used to think it was done on purpose not thinking they can't even speak it fluently. Kudos to Tanzania because even political matters are mostly addressed in Swahili. Love Tanzanian❤

  8. I don't really mind which language is used, even Swahili is a mixture of Arabic, Hindi and local African languages, it is written in latin alphabets and has adopted English vocabulary. As long as there is communication the language doesn't matter

  9. If you only knew the reason why Swahili is watered down in Kenya. It has nothing to do with "Posh" schools, it is more of what the language contains.

  10. I studied in Italy and I had to give an exam on the "Roman Empire". It had nothing to do with my degree but it was a requirement. My degree was in Italian language so we can say I was fully integrated within the Italian culture.

Fastforward to today. I live in the UK and I met two Kenyan ladies in BurgerKing sometimes back (I knew they were Kenyan via the flag bracelets we wear). After exchanging pleasantries and learning they were from Nairobi, I switched to Swahili. They were not having it. Apparently they were daughters of a minister in Kenya (I wont say the name) and they claimed they do not speak Swahili.

I asked them where they were born. When they said Kenya and even studied there, I was not having it. I bid them goodbye na nikajipa shughuli. This is not just a travesty to our culture and identity but a shame to anyone who would ditch their own culture to imitate another one.

Some Kenyans here don't want to speak English or their mother tongue. They claim they have lived here for 5 or 10 years and have forgotten. But when they go to India, they never speak with an Indian accent. Go figure.
