FGM ruined my life | Tuko TV
My marriage ended, I was forced to stop having more children, and my young athletic career came to a stop after being circumcised.

  1. Dear Tuko Family, this is Lynn Ngugi. Thank you so much for the support you keep showing me and my team. We are totally grateful and we do not take it for granted. Now, I understand many of you are asking where I am, I can assure you I am still here. I know many of you were offended by the word " Mathee" but I can assure you my colleague Brenda Gamonde used it in good faith. As any other person new to this, I will continue to mentor her and I promise you, she is really dedicated and will soon be bringing you amazing content. Please let us correct her positively and lift her up as she continues to follow her passion.
    With love, Lynn

  2. You can see it in her eyes …. the zeal; she's so enthusiastic about running; there is no greater power than loving what you're doing, sadly a talent cut short because of our traditions. God bless the work of her hands ✋🙏

  3. I think one way or the other she can be involved in sports, might not be necessarily on the ground but somehow, perhaps in a board of a sports organization!

  4. Me our days we was done but our parents never make us, to do so it'syour choices, but we never have any problems and, the lesson we was doing this, all the girls in your class, in your community have to be done, president moi he is the one stop this culture to continue, behind by white man, but remember some family's they was born again so they never believe in that culture most CPEA church, others church never interviews with your parents believe, plus if I didn't do it, my all girlfriend they couldn't talk to me again, no more friends , even school so better to do so, the problems with maasai is dirty. Us we was look after very well our parents were in the middle of this ceremonies make sure everything went well, clean parents use to find some old lady the one finished having sex , so she is very clean and she stays with you sleeping near u aswell ,some girls was taken in to the hospital Nairobi area , to be done we never heard that anyone got sick or problems after happened, kikuyus community am sure they regreat after they culture was taken away , for sure I can see that, for the generations this day's. Before this ceremony done no man could try to touch this girls we was still innocent under 18 years old , we have manners because we was told that don't try to have sex with anyone until you grown up ,or ceremony to be done, so we knew that you cannot have sex with anyone. No secret to your mother u most tell her truth if anyone trying to touch you private area go and tell your mom . I think my day's was better. I have three children's and no problems to delivery them at'll . Bye have good one .

  6. Lynn Ngugi, Africa is watching you guys. Please keep up the good work. If you get funds, put subtitles for us in the diaspora. You are inspiring me to learn Swahili. Blessings from Southern Africa.

  7. She is gorgeous. She looks like a family friend of mine from childhood. Her name was Nanyu – a stunning young lady (Maasai). I glad you are doing so much better.
