  1. Incredibly sad. Hope God lifts these women out of their suffering. Sad and infuriating the African leaders refuse to end these barbaric practices!

  2. Thank you for telling us the truth. I live in Washington, DC. I had heard about FGM, but did not know the extent of its cultural significance. This intimate perspective taught me a great deal. I hope that Fatmata’s soul and your life are at peace.

  3. I want every young girl watching this to know that THIS is love. Love is not pain, love is not suffering for him, love is not enduring for him. Love is fighting for one another. Love is losing each other physically but never losing one another in thought. You deserve someone who will never let your memory die. ❤ I hope this man has found some peace.

  4. Our ignorance is killing us . Period. As long as I have been a African woman I have been aware of this culture. I still cant believe this is still going on , but for some reason outdated tradition are more important than human life . Thats the African story a nutshell, tradition and religion make it easy from people to be abused .
