Fat Joe Thinks 2024 Might Be The “Worst Year Ever In Hip-Hop History”
As 2024 draws to a close, people are naturally reflecting on the last 12 months and handing out superlatives. Fat Joe recently said 2024 might have been the worst year in Hip-Hop history, and it may not be for the reasons one would immediately assume.
“I woke up in 2024 feeling like [God dammit!] It’s been a horrible year,” he told Math Hoffa on My Expert Opinion when asked about Remy Ma and Papoose’s recent drama. “I was just having a heated discussion with my people [about this]. This might be the worst year ever in Hip Hop history type sh*t. This sh*t bad.”
Joey Crack continued and got a little more specific. “All our legends, all our mentors getting scrutinized. This is the worst time to be a celebrity in the history of mankind. I’m not sure you guys wanna be celebrities,” he added. “Like I got friends who are filthy rich that wanna be popping and wanna be a celebrity. I don’t think they want everybody in they sh*t like that. This sh*t crazy out here. This is nuts. The f**king world done changed on me. It’s f**king nuts out here. You can’t make it up!”
2024 included, but was not limited to: Donald Trump being elected President again, Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef and the fallout of that, Diddy getting arrested after a year of lawsuits and accusations, Jay-Z’s name coming up in one of the rape lawsuits, Offset and Cardi B getting divorced, and now, Papoose and Remy Ma falling out.
“It’s a hard situation,” Fat Joe, said about his close friends’ relationship. “I don’t like none of that sh*t. What I can’t do is stop it. They won’t listen to me. It’s a different type of thing when you got a husband […] Nobody comes to my house and tells my wife sh*t. This is your husband. I can’t get in the middle of that, that’s y’all […] I wish this didn’t happen.”
The “Black Love (Remix)” duo recently accused each other of cheating, dropping several posts on Twitter and Instagram and including screenshots. This comes months after Remy was accused of cheating with a battle rapper.
