Fanø island – a 40km beach cycle! Beautiful Haderslev & in search of LPG. 🇩🇰 DENMARK MOTORHOME TRIP

This week we cycle 40km around Fanø, spot some spotted deer, search for LPG and finally make a stop in Haderslev! We can hardly believe a month has passed in Denmark. ❤️

If there is no signing, about fees for parking. It`s free. No matter what people tell you.

@michaelfrandsen6195

A little disappointing you didn't go to Ribe, it's the oldest city in Denmark, it has the oldest Cathedral in Denmark, and the city used to be the Danish capital before Copenhagen, AND it's close to Esbjerg, you could have stopped by on the way to Haderslev 😊

@istrysii

the Big white chimney you see at 6:24 , did close down Today as i type this !

@micbanand

koldskål. you have to make it yourself. the worst versions you tasted if you ask me 🙂 that version needs atleast some citrus. and Ducks in Denmark are very used to be feed day old bread :):)

@akyhne

Many people leave bottles for the few homeless people we have in Denmark. As you might know, there's pant (pfant) on most beverages, around 1-3 DKK per bottle, that you get as a refund, in supermarkets and other shops.

But yeah, there are also lazy people, who leave bottles or bags of no value.

@akyhne

In the small village you enter when you arrive at Fanø, there are several shops where you can see live pottery making and glass blasting.
And all over the island, there are shops that sell things they manufacture themselves, like small wooden figures. And there's a kind if 1960s hippie vibe to many of these owners of these small shops.

@akyhne

Koldskål is soooo easy to make yourself and it tastes a lot better. I prefer tykmælkskoldskål, but it's usually made out of kærnemælk (sour milk).

1 liter of tykmælk or kærnemælk
2 spoon sugar
2 eggs
Vanilla sugar, either a teaspoon or two or a quarter to half a stick of vanilla
Maybe a squeeze of lemon

Eggs are usually hazel free to eat raw, but on the safe side, you could go for pasteurized eggs. They are expensive though.

Whip for 2-3 minutes with machine or whip for 7-10 minutes with hand.

As for cookies, you can also use tvebakker. They are less salty, but to me has more taste anyway. They are also much bigger and much more fluffy.

@akyhne

If you think Fanø is busy, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Say you want to go to Rømø on a hot summer day weekend with +25 degree weather. You arrive "late" at the causeway crossing to Rømø at around 10 AM. Expect around 2-3 hours to get across to the island, as another 2-300.000 – mainly Germans – are trying to get across too. Those 2-300.000 visitors will all end up on the beach on the west coast, in row after row of cars.

@akyhne

So weird. Found your channel yesterday and have binge watched your Danish videos. In one, you were a few hundred meters from where I live – the troll at the beach in Horsens and today in this video, a few hundred meters from my brother at Dyrehaven in Esbjerg.

Btw. if you ever visit the infinite bridge/pier in Aarhus again, there's a huge forest park just south of that, along the beach, where you can run, walk, feet deers with your hands etc. It's called Marselisborg Dyrehave.

I would also highly, highly recommend visiting Moesgaard museum a few kilometers south of Aarhus, also close to that forest. It is a dedicated museum to archeology and etnography about Denmark and is very famous. There's a long article about the museum, on Wikipedia.

You have now also been very close to Struer twice, at the Limfjord. Struer is the Home of famous Bang & Olufsen, if you're into that. I don't know if they have a museum.

If you ever go to Mors – largest island in the Limfjord, you have to visit Jesperhus Blomsterpark. It's a large, astonishing garten, well worth a visit.

Romkugler i Middelfart

@mothservice6198

Hi both, hope your enjoying denmark.
We live on fyn, maybe your here now ? Dont forget to visit Helnæs near assens, its a really nice place. There is also spot for sleeping. 👍

Romkugle try those from nørre aaby Bakeri, they are really good.

People living on the Danish islands don't pay for the ferry, to make it more attractive to live on those. And LPG was popular in the sixties for tax reasons, but I didn't know it was still being sold for cars? I have a nice dieselcar with all filters and an extreme range compared with most others, so I won't change, and as now 76 I really don't care. It will last my time.

@OndrejKrcal

Hi, we are from Czech Republic, we are watching your videos that are quite unique for us. We recently stopped by in Denmark during our Scandinavian trip and we fell in love with this country. It is really awesome. Places shown by you are inspiration for us in the future. Thank you!😊❤

@bennyl2454

It's great that you can show us just how much Denmark has to offer for visitors. Such a beautiful country. Excellent content as always. Safe travels.

@CyrilKlopper

Fun fact: Many of the seals along the South African coast have contracted a strain of rabies. It causes them to attack people far more often than normal. The rabies epidemic has spread all the way up to Swakopmund in Namibia. It's like a seal zombie apocalypse!, not really… Dankie vir die video, julle twee.

@pauli6570

Lekker man lekker in my tuis dorp Esbjerg 👍👍👍👍👍👍. Het vakansie huis oppi kus as julle dit wil leen 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰 Verniet obviously 🇩🇰🇿🇦

@jimmyschmidt738

The best romkugler in DK in 2024 are voted to be in Aabenraa. In 2023 it was on Fyn. But I am sure both of them tastes Good 🤗
Bon appetit 😋

@mcstaal

Malcom Campell set the world speed record in his Sunbeam 350 on that beach, in 1923.

@kristofferholst6053

What a great video, so wonderful to see you exploring Denmark. There are so many videos about Copenhagen and not that many about Denmark outside of the Capital. So it’s just lovely seeing you out there in the country side.
It’s also nice seeing someone appreciating the land scape we are always being teased about it being flat, uninspiring and boring. But you seem to be doing a good job of finding great places to explore. When you go to Sjælland you should really visit the Island of Møn its quite unique for Denmark with its huge white cliffs.

@BatteryMan-c6v

Great video again guys! How did you keep your bikes secure when you walked to see the seals?! Great video with the seal and the kayak!

@raunholt1234

Also try an Hindbærsnitter in a bakery 😋

@egonsrensen4658

et godt spot på Fyn, er Fænø sund ved Middelfart

@Kurkess

When I make koldskål I use Ymer, Buttermilk (kærnemælk fra Arla), vanilla and regular sugar. I rarely use eggs as many do.

@johudson6765

Aww guys great vlog … loving slow free living… how lovely you saw some deer and a white baby!!!! Wow 🙏 and Lisa you’re cycling is perfected 🚲

@janharald1714

By the Way – when trying koldskål – try the organic one from Naturmælk og in Lidl from Engvang – they are testvinners and taste so good. Try using a crunch musli instead of the kammerjunkers, thats also nice.
And when you come to Zealand – if you want a nice spot for the night – go to Vellerup sommerby, at the end of the road where you will have a view over the Isefjord to Orø and in the distance Holbæk. Theres a nice badthing-bridge and tables and a beautiful walk along the coastline.

@henningrasmussen8225

Kold skål must always be with vanilla and abit of lemon adjust with a spoon of cream on top perhaps different cereals !!!

@creekyknee

What a wonderful 31 minutes. You guys never fail to deliver. That was so enjoyable. Well done Denmark on impressing Lisa and Andre so much. If its good enough for Lisa and Andre, its good enough for me. We are definitely going to visit. Apart from the fact that I have 2% Denmark, Norway or Finland DNA how could I not visit such a well organised country. I am so impressed with those honesty boxes where people are expected to be honest and pay for what they take. If only all commerce could be conducted like that.
I'll be honest, I still really dislike Andre and Lisa. How dare they live the life that I would love to be living. Its people like them that make me….. so envious…
Guys, you are playing a stormer, keep up the great work on producing such delightful videos for us all to enjoy. Stay safe, keep minding each other and looking forward to your next installment.

@Michael-dj6pd

26:00 usually it's young teens who leave their trash around, it's unfortunate that they are like that.

@davidpax

Some kinds of koldskål have a taste of lemon, but I prefer it without lemon.

@MogensDam

In 2018 and for 4 consecutive years Baks Bakery & Deli på Fyn was nominated the best maker of romkugler. They have two adresses: Nørre Aaby bageri, Bogensevej 12, 5500 Middelfart and Grønnegade 12, 5580 Nørre Aaby. Maybe worth to try?!

@Kermit-Si

Hi Lisa and Andre 👋
I love how your plans keep changing, it highlights the beauty of van life. Move on, stay another day or month, brilliant.
Cheers 👍 🐸

Wien you dom to Fyn, you must try “Brunsviger” cake – that´s the lokal cake – I´m sure you will love it.

26:34 That must be a damage because there have been used cement in a partial repair near the woodwork. You mustn’t use cement however in repairs of these old buildings, because the tree must be able to ventilate.
An old fashioned simple mortar must be used, because there are ventilation through these, but not the newer cements where there’s no ventilation and the water therefore stays and makes the wood rot as has happened here.

@sebastianlaursen5737

Funny to see your drive and cycle around Esbjerg where I live. And you also literally filmed the house in Haderslev where I used to live 🤣 Enjoy Fyn, maybe you come across my old home there too 😄

@simonbannow3905

👍

@willevallas

Thank for sharing Danmark with us ❤

@vwm1969

The best romkugler is made by the baker in Nr Åby. They are so popular that he has had to expand his business and opened a shop in Middelfart. Its called Baks Bakery and delli. When in Middelfart you might consider taking the bridge walk.

@hoygys

When you drive to Funen, use the old Lillebælt bridge, going from Snoghøj in Fredericia to Middelfart on Funen. It's a very scenic old bridge. Hope I'm not too late 😉

@145Nudel

Lisa: This reminds me of something…
Andre: Koldskål?
😆😂
