As a leftist who doesn't much care for the CCP and the way it rules China, I'm "at a rock and a hard place" w/ regard to groups like FG

On the one hand, I'm glad that they are- if they tell the truth, at least- "fighting back" against the worst of CCP rule, but.. OTOH, I don't see their 'preferred alternative' as much of "a choice" in itself, haha

Let alone their "white American" allies like the head of the American branch of Epoch Times (Roman something)

and they, of course, have an obvious "incentive"- business and otherwise- to PLAY-UP claims of "organ harvesting" and the like, to "make China's current state/gov't look really-bad", which, perhaps, can 'distort' what's "really" going on (or, at least, the magnitude)

and who knows how many "real" or "credible" 'inside people' Falun Gong "actually knows" that are regular Chinese folks or inside China FT
and how much is just "made up" BY those in charge of FG for clicks, money and the like

And, of course, as social conservatives who HATE anything remotely Marxist, some of their opposition to CCP policies may be "ridiculous" to even me. In a lot of ways, they're little more than "Red Scare-esque anticommunists" but Chinese instead of white or "typical US Republican"

The voices of emigres, especially, is important to 'get another view' of a certain regime, but… when it comes to some- esp. ones calling themselves "communist"- their worldview and ideology may well lead, to a degree, them having a "distorted memory" of *what really went on*, esp. decades later

For example, as much as I hate Leninism, I'm typically not gonna 'take the word' of some White Guard or White Army emigre living in France about "how bad" the Bolshevik Revolution was
Esp. since the former is, in all likelihood, just full of sour grapes cuz his "buddy" The Tsar got deposed, among other things

and he may want a similarly-brutal regime as Lenin's but… just with HIM AND HIS BUDDIES ruling it from a "far-right position"
