Curry originates from India and other Indo Asian countries and the middle east. I never use any brands but from India here in Canada. Ihave seen many packets from the Caribbean in ethnic stores here.

Curry powder is an Asian product and not Jamaican. There is no such thing as a Jamaican curry mix. Are the ingredients dangerous? Citizens of the Indian subcontinent can claim curry as their own, as can Thailand and many other countries. A good cook making a "curry" would not use so called curry powder but would blend several spices and herbs. Jamaican curry powder is heavy on turmeric and is not the favorite of millions of diners. This is a tempest in a teapot unless it can be proven that this mixture is injurious to our health.

Grenadian here…you don’t have to buy premade curry. It’s very easy to make it from scratch with seasoning you already have in your home. All you need is turmeric, geera, cilantro, fennel, fenugreek, salt and chili powder. Blitz it in a food processor and you have curry powder. I’m sorry this evil was done in Jamaica 😢
