Explain & Verify I Who owns which land in South Africa?

The furore surrounding Expropriation Act has caused a refocus on land ownership patterns in South Africa. While the Act in itself does not directly address land reform, it is worth mentioning that the dispossession of land was a colonial and apartheid’s greatest weapon to subjugate Black Africans as second class citizens in their…

The land individuals, trusts, companies own, they paid for. Property 24 has 100's of farms for sale, let those who want farms go buy the farms for sale.

Just a stupid question to this stupid video

So let's say 82% of south Africa is black for the last 30 years you could buy land, no law said black people cannot buy land for 30 years. This country had BBEE for allmost 30 years, black people had better work opportunities than any other race, why did no black person buy land? Now instead of working for a living and buying property you want to give out free land that the government doesn't own, 21% is surely enough to house millions of people, why not give out Unused gov land?

SAA doesnt work, railways buggered, electricity on and off, water becoming scarse, education in the dumps, farmers moving to the USA, jobs no where to be seen, all CBDs falling to pieces, corruption one of the highest in the world etc etc etc, but u know what will help? Giving people some land. Most of the people u give the land back to will just sell it back to the government, but hey long as we have land, that makes everything better.

Draw a map of the whole of South Africa and Color it according to urban and towns / home lands ie Zulu king in natal etc mines forests government owned then add your foot notes of white etc owned for farms and homes then I’m sure we will get a better picture of the land issues
Now explain. Where the blacks want land and remember most of the blacks actually come from a home land ie natal 75 percent now do they actual require another piece of land as they are working and living urbanely
Thank you then I’m sure the basic person will have a better understanding

Here’s a more accurate and professional version of your statement:

Since the African National Congress (ANC) took power in 1994, approximately 8 million hectares of land have been transferred to the state through various land reform programs. However, challenges persist in redistributing this land to black South Africans, with many beneficiaries lacking formal title deeds due to bureaucratic delays, policy inefficiencies, and tenure security complexities. Addressing these administrative and structural barriers should be a key step toward meaningful land reform as a starting point.

Clearly, the 30 % pass rate is showing it`s head here. Land was paid for by white settlers and farmed a long time prior to the 1919 land act and before the formation of the Union of South Africa.

South Africa has 121 924 881 hectares of land according to the land audit report. Individual whites own 26 663 144 ha of farm land, thus 22% of SA.

The states owned over 19 497 451 ha of land during the audit and all farms acquired for land redistribution after the audit is owned by the state. Why don't the state redistribute State owned land?

To suggest whites owns the bulk of the land is a narrative that is driven to divide and usurp power and is not based on facts.

Furthermore merely taking productive farm land and giving it to people who does not have the necessary skills and training to cultivate the land and run a farming business is a recipe for disaster. We have seen this as 75% of farms Acquired by Land Reform has failed. This has led to numerous job losses and a big dent in our food security.

No need for Debate. We acknowledged the unjust laws in the past and skewed ownership. The debate is on How we do the redress and South Africa is fortunate that All races are prepared to deal with it.AgriSA has a workable program.Ignore Racists and Populist s the reform can move smoothly without the need for panic ,without involving racists from USA ,without involving EFF Afriforum .Had there been no Corruption in land reform program we would have transfered more but look what happened during Gwanya years.Greed killed the program.I think debate about who did what to whom 100 years ago is a waste of time.Lets debate how we reform without adopting the "Zim style Greed driven land grabs" where Mugabe ended up taking 21 white farms for his family. With Corruption a religion in ANC cadres will simply grab everything as they have done in municipalities and state companies at the expense of the poor

After 1994 more whites farmers started shifting to this ownership form of trust with assistance of land bank up-to-date, they are owning farms in family groups the sameway they were during 1913. In my view they just change the bottle but the medicine is still the same. Black people must be wake-up no more tolerance for this injustice and inequality in SA
