The "chapati" you ate is called Kocho, it is starch from false banana, Ensete ventricosum. It is a staple food in the southern part of Ethiopia. The false banana instead of storing starch in the form of banana it stotres starch in the lower stem and the roots. It takes a lot of biotechnology to process the starch.
