Ethiopian People are Truly Exceptional.
That’ll get you drumming for sure. Hot stuff
I wonder what these ceremonies looked like before global trade, without sugar and popcorn…
A shovel of sugar to hide all that bitterness from `multiple times` and burning on pan to coal ! Cuz sugar is so `traditional` lmao.
Crazy how they ruining it ! At least not a clay cezve in this video, that`s even worse. Somebody should give them popcorn maker and proper hardware.
Same as Italians love bitter coffee so much they don`t understand it`s a cherry and should not be very bitter at all ! And won`t accent anything else, just keep loving this coal.
Very nice video 👍
The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a traditional cultural practice that is an essential part of daily life in Ethiopia. The ceremony starts with roasting green coffee beans until they turn fragrant and smoke fills the room. Popcorn is served alongside the coffee, and frankincense is burned to add to the aroma. The ground coffee is then brewed in a clay coffee pot, which is a complicated process of boiling and reheating. Finally, the host serves the brewed coffee to guests. Drinking Ethiopian coffee is an excellent experience and one that is a must-try for coffee lovers.
I love that song! It was released in 1997 by the way. It's a great song.
Very interesting. As they produce coffee in Ethiopia, it makes sense they love their coffee this much. So the ceremony seems to be all about resting the beans as required and really savouring the aroma. I'm sure anywhere it is hospitable to offer coffee to guests but there is no hurry and the moment is savored. I do like Ethiopian coffee myself, but of course I buy it pre ground in a bag, and don't have this experience at home.
Is this special coffee like having an Espeesso? Or somewhere between Espresso and Americano? I was surprised they added sugar though.
This is a great presentation. Thanks 🙏
OMG!!!!! I LOVE THIS COFFEEEE!!!!!!

what's the name of that coffee machine?
is it too much sugar ?
I don't see anything filtered though?
Hi Mark. Just found this video by chance. It reminded me so much of Yemeni coffee but they add cardamon to the lightly ground green coffee beans when they boil it. The result is a very light coffee. Delicious with fresh dates 😉
Coffee is definitely from Ethiopia. The popcorn is a post colonial addition as Africa did not have corn until the colonization of the Americas.
👍 ☕
It is like a tea ceremony
1:09 That might be popped sorghum, which is a common snack in India. It looks just like popcorn, but the pieces are smaller and don't have any hulls to get stuck in your teeth! I've been trying to get my little local market to import the stuff for a minute now…
Special coffe excellent good video👍😋💯💖
Why can't anybody give a figure on the ration of water to grounds? That is essential data to make coffee correctly. I'm well aware of Buna, so I know of what I speak and ask. Even videos that claim to show you exactly how to make it do not mention the water-to-grounds ratio. It is strong in the beginning and then thins out as the pouring continues three times = 3 cups each at least. Thanks for the video, but I'll keep searching.
Look up
I was very fortunate to have been working with ethiopeans, watched them prepare it and drink it regularly with them. They are very proud of their coffee being considered one of the best and rightly so.
She used way too much sugar…. she should've used like half of it
amazing coffee.Ethiopia the origin of coffee,
wow wow wow
I really loved the video how they were used the simple tools to make pure coffee.
I got really frustrated today as I got a bag of Columbian coffee as manager tried it and said the flavour was terrible extracted by espresso machine .Then I suggested I could use them to make cold brew.I got no fancy tool, only a big tea pot with good filter.I grinded the beans very coarse and brewed it with filtered water for 15 hours….the result was good and refreshing.
Then one of the senior co-worker one day after thrown my cold brew and said should have a machine or tool to make cold brew but not my simple way.
I was so pissed off ….simple tools could make the same result if you measured the dose with how much of water in correct ratio with time control.
I would love to learn how to do this.
