Why are our countries in debt and impoverished when we have so much natural wealth 😢 is it the poor governance of our leaders??? Zambia 🇿🇲 has got Gold, emeralds, Diamonds, Copper, Manganese, sujilite, cobalt, platinum, uranium, Mukula tree just to mention a few of our natural resources. Please make me understand why our leaders subject our countries to debts 🤔🤔

@boubousky4068

Did she just said that Zambia and Ethiopia are poor countries????😅

Do you know what all three countries have in common regarding their Debt?
1. All applied under the IMF bail out and thus have to implement the IMF Restructure Program: Balanced Government Budget, Privatization of national assets and services and Financial austerity (cutting down on social services)
2. All have seek the G20 Debt Relieve Framework (note the word "framework" not debt "relief") and
3. All debtors countries in the G20 agreed to possible extension if the IMF Loan comes through except China.
Why ?These countries did not seek assistance from BRI funding institutions which have applied Debt Relief to over 15 African Countries in the last 2 years alone. These three countries stuck to the one and only one available debt modality for us developing countries instead of looking forward. Singapore faced the same delimma back in the 1960s but decided to do it alone without IMF packages.
Food for Thought
