  1. The way the narrator really goes in just a roll one Edward III’s end is just chef kiss to end of life to one of Britain’s greatest king 🥹

  2. Everyone loves to gossip talk Debate lie & Slate jealous of the mighty courage so they all love to Hate but wait it must be because the English will never be FAKE , we invent build & Create the time zones so now can we be Late , we bring manners respect & smile with no hesitate at all the lunatics & snakes the English bring honour & wisdom strength power as traits the world was full of evil we come to make it a better place the world was out of shape & we tried are best to make it straight turn up to help & bring democracy Laws freedom to make it a better place for all cultures & race , no history or county is perfect yeh we know that my mate but now we can learn speak read breath & sleep in peace soo always give grace , the romans Saxons Germans French Norman’s Dutch vikings came to displace but the English kept fighting as people we embrace the beautiful island with flowers green grass ponds canals churches castles & lakes with so much fresh air & for a small country there’s soo much free space no other county can keep up with the pace oh what a beautiful place for all my USA friends don’t forget we helped created the states 👊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

  3. You can’t be serious! 😂 Tampon Charlie has been “king” all of 5 minutes. What has he done to be included with the Greats??? What a joke.

  4. For me, Edward III was the greatest post-1066. It would have to be Alfred or Aethelstan pre-Conquest for me. Edward the Confessor is weak and overrated, I think.

  5. Greatest gene lottery winners .. big deal.
Given what they never deserved .. big deal.
The idea that anyone is born with more power than someone else .. that's some kind of sick .. that's some kind of sick ..

  6. I enjoy the People Profiles and their narrators. This gentleman has the most glamorous pronunciation of Parliament ever. 😅 But 5:13:16 Reims again makes me want to ream someone. Reims is more like “Ranss” — closer to the French word for rinse, rincer.

Thanks PP for solid research, good storytelling and pleasing period visuals without the reenacted battle scenes so many history videos have.

  7. Charles has not shown he is even a good king, let alone being great! His son dunks his head in the toiler regularly. So the idea he can accomplish anything is doubtful. He can't even manage his rebel son or his so called wife.

  8. Edward I (“Longshanks”) and Edward III are often mentioned as England’s greatest king. Strong claims for both. But I think William the Conqueror was England’s most consequential king, for reasons I give in another post.

  9. How is “great” judged? Militarily, domestic benefits to the British people, strategic political decisions internationally, great wisdom, high morals, saintly conduct etc – or simply, the most consequential?

The most consequential monarch in English history, in my view, must be William the Conqueror. For he changed the course of English, British and maybe even world history in a way that few other English monarchs could even lay claim to. And here’s the rub. He wasn’t even English!
