This is similar to Greek style. Absolutely delicious! You can also add chopped carrots and potatoes if you like. Goes great with olives,feta cheese and crusty bread and vinegar

I will definitely add garlic and cumen into it!;) the way my mom use to make it, and I don't think you necessarily need to soak the lentils over night!. also make sure there's no rocks/debris or sticks in before soakin/cleaning it over and over w abundant water until is clean/clear.. but I still love your way/ it so simple and easy

I love lentils. In Austria, where I grew up, we eat it with chopped-up pickles (mixed in at the end), and I also like to use some the tasty juice from the pickle car for the cooking liquid. It also goes great with a fried egg on top.

I cooked it in slow cooker and I added some Indian spices turmeric and garam masala and it turned out delicious. I served it hot in the lunch and my mom liked it too much. Thanks.

This looks very similar to greek style lentils. Instead of paprika you use bay leaf and a bit of red vinegar. Yumm

Why grate tomatoes instead of just using from can?
The right way to make lentils, almost exactly like the recipe I uploaded to my YouTube channel. You have to remember to check the lentils for little rocks. Yes, I go through the lentils and make sure that anything that looks like a little rock gets removed. You can spread a small amount of lentils on a white plate and visually inspect them, and then throw them into a large pot in which you will soak the lentils. Don't forget to change the water before you cook the lentils, there will be a lot of "dust" that has to be removed with the original water that you soaked them in.
