I'm not sure where he is getting his statistics from, but the ABA claims that 5% of lawyers are African American, and 38% are women (from 2022).

Unfortunately, we don't have direct statistics of black women. The best we can do is .38*.05 which gives us 1.9%.

However, the ABA does have statistics for black female federal judges, which is 4.4%.

The New York Supreme Court isn't a "Supreme court" the way we think of it as the "highest court in the state." That is New York's "Court of Appeals."

The New York "Supreme Court" is really a mid-tier appellate court and there are four of them:
    https://www.nycourts.gov/courts/appellatedivisions.shtml

The First Appellate Division of the Supreme Court covers the Bronx and NY County. The Bronx is 44% black.
    https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/bronxcountynewyork/PST045222

    NY County is 18.7% black.

It makes sense that local appeals court judges might be picked from their community.

If you plug these numbers into the binomial probability formula.
    https://www.varsitytutors.com/hotmath/hotmath_help/topics/binomial-probability

You get a probability of about .0006% which is more than being struck by lighting.

But less than getting a straight flush in poker.

But it is certainly not "literally zero."

  2. I think to really show how unlikely to have all black judges youd have to account for 1. all similar seats in NYC and 2. the chances of it happening so early in history ie this wasnt possible 100 years ago. still stupidly unlikely to happen by chance so most likely some aspects of discrimination played a part but yea technically higher than 0.0006% but noy much.

  3. TBH I missed it too. The reason why End Wokness is being accused of Racism is he is saying it is statistically impossible for a there to be a black woman on the court ergo some form of Affirmative Action was done. Ryan was showing that when you look at the demographics it's not statistically impossible and the misrepresentation was done to push an agenda

  4. The fact that you have posted videos like this (which point out false claims, misused information, manipulative content, and lies) against various political parties, activist groups, and politicians all across the political spectrum makes me immeasurably happy.

  5. Technically it's not a zero but statistically speaking its unlikely as hell which is usually what these people mean when they say it's a zero because in reality it is close enough.

  6. Ryan you also did the math wrong, this assumes an approximately normal distribution, and that each trial won't affect the distribution.

In real life and in an especially small community of lawyers people talk and the exchange of information and other hidden variables makes the likelihood of a Black judge being elected significantly higher.

As a counter, I'd ask you to take a look a the earth before multicellular life and I want you to figure out the probability of life creating nuclear weapons of mass destruction. That expected probability would be essentially 0, yet here we are.

  7. Seems a little biased on your end here when for all intents and purposes it’s 0% and you proved his point more than you hurt it. Plenty of dumber things said on the internet, weird focus.

  8. You're calling him racist and claiming he can't do math, right after you've basically proven him right. Is this satire? I'm really not sure, but if it is, then bravo. If it isn't, then that makes it even funnier.

  9. Usually your analysis is good, not here though. You should have reported the factor of standard deviations, you would have found a relatively high sigma.
